Core purpose of the jobTo teach and assess Education Theories and Theories of Human Development and Learning Modules. Design course curriculum, instructional materials, and assessment strategies that promote active learning and student engagement. Conduct research regarding teaching in the Primary School Education Department and/or related fields, leading to publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at conferences. Participate in academic administration, including serving on faculty committees, contributing to curriculum development, and assisting with accreditation processes. Engage in professional development activities to stay abreast of advancements in Education Theories and Theories of Human Development and Learning, Educational pedagogy, and Research Methodologies. Collaborate with colleagues within the department and across disciplines to promote interdisciplinary research and educational initiatives. To assess and mentor students in SBL.
Key Performance Areas- Facilitate learning, teaching, and assessment at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
- Conduct research and publish in peer-reviewed academic journals / academic platforms.
- Participate in academic and community engagements.
- Contribute to Faculty administration as required.
- Supervision of postgraduate students.
- Demonstrate sound knowledge and expertise in Education Theories and Theories of Human Development and Learning.
- Ability to facilitate teaching, learning and assessment of Education Theories and Theories of Human Development and Learning to diverse cohorts of education undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Ability to supervise postgraduate students will be an added advantage.
- Possess the ability to develop a curriculum and teaching resources for Education Theory Modules offered across the programs.
- Proficiently navigate and utilise the Moodle Learning Management Systems (LMS) to facilitate effective online teaching and learning experiences, including managing course materials, assignments, and assessments, providing technical support to students and colleagues, and customizing the LMS interface to enhance user experience and engagement.
- Conduct scholarly work with a focus on teaching Theories of Human Development and Learning and Education Theories.
- Possess effective communication skills (verbal and written), good facilitation, training, and presentation skills.
- A Master of Education degree or equivalent Master’s Degree.
- A PhD will be an added advantage.
- A minimum of two years’ teaching experience in a school.
- Experience of teaching in Higher Education as an added advantage.

Responsibilities- Developing and reviewing nursing programs in line with business needs and SANC requirements, consulting with relevant stakeholders and obtaining approval of programs via Nurse Education Manager for submission to Governance structures
- Monitoring program delivery monthly, collating and monitoring training schedules and evaluating, reviewing and updating learning material annually
- Developing and ensuring the implementation of assessment schedules, moderating tests, assignments and examinations, analysing assessment results and implementing remedial action where necessary
- Overseeing development and review of clinical instruments and workbooks, conducting internal moderation of formative and summative clinical assessments and submitting summative assessment results to SANC
- Monitoring research projects and collating and publishing/presenting studies per program annually
- Co-ordinating and conducting workshops and feedback sessions and identifying external education opportunities for Nurse Educators

- A relevant Master’s Degree or PhD is essential
- Proven leadership in an education/teaching role within the healthcare environment
- Current registration with SANC
