The purpose of the Service Department Manager is to effectively plan, control and monitor the performance of the service departments to ensure that they operate at an optimal level.

Minimum Requirements:
- Matric / NQF level 4 equivalent

- Industrial Relations experience recommended

Responsibilities- Developing and Implementing Quality Control Processes:
- Creating and maintaining quality control procedures, standards, and protocols for all aspects of shipyard operations.
- Conducting Audits and Inspections:
- Performing regular audits and inspections of shipyard processes, materials, and finished products to identify deviations from standards.
- Leading and Mentoring:
- Providing leadership and guidance to the quality control team, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
- Identifying and Resolving Quality Issues:
- Investigating quality problems, determining root causes, and implementing corrective and preventative actions.
- Ensuring Compliance:
- Ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.

- Understanding of industry specific standards and norms
- Understanding of industry welding procedures
- Dealing with 3rd party Classification societies for the duration of the newbuild and managing required records and documents.
- Excellent report writing skills
- Professional Experience:
- Minimum 10 years’ combined QA-QC experience covering marine, oil and gas EPC projects (onshore /offshore), heavy fabrication, process plants, etc.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in QA-QC Manager role
- Proved auditing experience
- Computer Skills:
- Good knowledge of MS Office
- Market/Industry/Functional Knowledge:
- Proved capability in preparing and implementing quality assurance policies, procedures/plans/instructions
- Strong management practices and techniques

IntroductionWe are seeking to appoint a Department Manager (Pick/Check/Pack) - Cape Town. The candidate will report into the Branch Manager (CT). (Must be able to work shifts i.e. alternate one week day and one week night etc.)
Job Purpose:
The Department Manager holds ultimate and overall accountability for the entire distribution operations process; including the receipt, storage and control of stock; the assembly of orders and the dispatch of orders to fleet and couriers.
Key Performance Areas:
- Management of all stock, including the processes of receipt, GRN’ing, sorting, packing away, bin maintenance, stock transfers, quarantining of stock, returns of stock to suppliers and stock control activities.
- Compliance, under and subject to the directives of the Managing Pharmacist, with inter alia the legal requirements and the company standard operating procedures (SOPs) relating to quarantining of stock.
- Accountable for managing the risks associated with handling stock and the minimization thereof, including the risks of theft and pilferage, damages, costs associated with expiry and cold chain breach and losses arising out of inaccurate supply against an invoice.
- Accountable for the stock count process on a quarterly basis and the implementation of on-going special and cycle counts of stock.
- Management of the process of assembling stock against an invoice, including the processes of picking (fine and bulk), packing and checking of orders.
- Management of the process of dispatch of stock.
- Management of the process of customer returns of stock, including salvaging of stock and destruction of stock (under the directives of the Managing Pharmacist).
- Accountable for the health and safety and security requirements relating to the building, the operational processes and the staff.
- Accountable for housekeeping in regard to the warehouse and the stock and the machinery in the warehouse.
- Accountable for all maintenance requirements relating to the warehouse and machinery and computer equipment in the warehouse.
- Management of the operations of the distribution contracts, including storage and control of stock, assembling and dispatch of orders against invoice.
- Accountable for the budget for the operations and for compliance with the budget and for reporting progress against and variance with the budget.
- Accountable for the management of the staffing of the operation including compliance with the employment policies.
- Accountable for rectifying and reporting on any discrepancies, procedure breach or non-compliance issues arising out of the report of the Internal Audit department.

Purpose of the Role
The purpose of the role is to manage the Performance Analytics function to provide a service to various departments including Operations, Distribution and Investment teams. This role is responsible for supplying advanced quantitative performance-related data to the business. You will perform ongoing development and research of quantitative solutions for a variety of performance and analytics issues and will be required to provide valuable insights and an understanding into the funds’ performance and risk. In addition, you will come up with innovative ways to automate internal and external performance and general portfolio reporting so that stakeholders receive value-added information.
Job Duties- Set up, manage and continuously improve the Performance Analytics function for the business.
- Investigate and attend to investment performance and related data queries from Operations, Distribution and Investment teams.
- Provide performance reporting on a total fund level as well as an asset class level and their corresponding benchmarks.
- Perform contribution to return and attribution calculations by security, asset class and geography among others.
- Generate and compile monthly, quarterly and bespoke performance attribution and risk management reports for internal and external clients, while ensuring the integrity of the data provided.
- Implement and drive the company’s compliance with GIPS standards.
- Maintain and update the internal performance reporting systems to ensure accurate and timely data integration and protect data integrity.
- Audit attribution and risk output, and research/resolve variances as necessary.
- Partner with the Investment and Distribution teams in the preparation of presentations and reports for clients and consultants.
- Conduct general data and performance analytics project work for the business.
- Understand and monitor market trends, benchmark index movements, macro-economics and industry on-goings to provide meaningful and relevant insights to stakeholders.
- Stay relevant and up to date with legislations and new developments.
Qualifications
- Honours degree in Computational & Applied Maths, Stats, Investment Management, Finance, Economics or similar
- Certificate in Investment Performance Management is an advantage
Experience and Skills
- Minimum 3 years portfolio performance analysis experience within a similar environment
- Advanced Excel skills
- Knowledge of Global Investment Performance Standards
- Demonstrate knowledge of the Asset management industry, including local and international best practice for performance calculation methods and standards
- Strong ability to work with technology applications, and databases
- Familiarity with risk analysis principles preferred
- Familiarity with performance attribution/risk management software preferred
