Overview :

In this role, you'll play a key part in supporting the People Team Data function as we work together to expand the scope and improve the capabilities of people data reporting. You will help us move towards a systems-first approach for managing people data. Reporting to the People Data & Analytics Manager, this position is on a fixed-term contract specifically covering the duration of the apprenticeship.

The successful candidate will work towards a Data Analyst Level 4 apprenticeship. The role will require 20% of working hours to be spent gaining skills and knowledge towards achieving the Level 4 Data Apprenticeship Standard, including attending workshops, online learning, webinars, coaching, or shadowing. The remaining 80% of working hours will be spent delivering the key responsibilities outlined below.

Responsibilities :
  • Assist in collating, analysing, and visualising People data to produce reports that facilitate data-led decision-making.
  • Consult with departments on required data and measures to support decision-making.
  • Author and implement data documentation to articulate report functions, data sources, intended use, and audiences.
  • Support the development and creation of data warehouse objects to enhance data analysis within the people team.
  • Support the People team in leveraging data to improve insights and measurement of activities, including undertaking ad hoc reports.
  • Work closely with the People Systems Team to maximise system functionality and enhance data analysis activities.
  • Verify data accuracy and completeness, ensuring consistent recording of required information.
  • Maintain and update systems to track and record project progress, ensuring documentation of developments.
  • Ensure all work complies with data protection regulations and considers data security at every stage.
  • Support the Data Team in keeping the business informed on ongoing data initiatives within the people team.
We’re looking for candidates who :
  • Have numeracy literacy and word processing skills to communicate and solve problems effectively.
  • Are friendly, approachable, and able to communicate (both written and verbal) across all areas of the business.
  • Have experience working with Office 365 packages like Excel to handle data efficiently.
  • Are aware of data security and data protection regulations and confident in handling sensitive information.
  • Have experience and interest in problem solving and data analysis.
Entry requirements :
  • Level 3 qualification (apprenticeship, A-levels, BTEC, etc.)
  • OR equivalent work experience (typically two years in a relevant role)
Plus :
  • 5 GCSEs including English and Maths at Grade 4 (C) or above
  • Experience with Excel and Microsoft products (or similar)

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience demonstrating the minimum foundation needed for this program. If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, you must provide an official document stating how your international qualifications compare to UK qualifications. Monday - Friday, 37 hours per week.

Our client has a track record of nearly 3 decades in the medical industry! They are a leading South African based distributor of high-quality medical consumables and equipment, working with professionals in both private practice and state health facilities.

Duties & Responsibilities

As their new Master Data Analyst, you will:

  • Support the efficient purchasing and management of inventory.
  • Be responsible for the data integrity of item master data.
  • Be responsible for costing of foreign shipments received.
Desired Experience & Qualification

Here’s what you will need:

  • Higher Education qualification with a Certificate in Informatics or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years experience as a Master Data Analyst from the FMCG/Medical/Pharmaceutical industry essential.
  • Knowledge of logistics and documents required to freight cargo.
  • Microsoft Navision and Bi Wise.
