Overview

Our client is looking for a Category Manager to join their team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of ironmongery experience, including door handles, locks, window fittings, door hinges, bolts, door numbers, skirting, door stops, robe hooks, and letter plates. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a merchandise or related department within the retail industry.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement category strategies

  • Merchandise solutioning

  • Financial management, including budgeting and profitability optimization

  • Build and maintain stakeholder relationships

  • Ensure high levels of customer service

  • Lead and manage a team effectively


Requirements

  • Grade 12

  • Minimum of 2 years' ironmongery experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management, Finance, or Business Administration

  • At least 5 years' experience in Category Management or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years in a senior leadership role

  • Experience managing a merchandise or related department/division

  • Experience in a merchandise, procurement, or sales environment (desirable)

  • National-level experience
