On the hunt for a Business Intelligence Analyst in JHB!

POSITION INFO:

Behind every sharp decision is sharper intelligence. This role is for someone who knows how to connect data dots and extract meaningful trends that drive real-world outcomes. If you're the type of analyst who doesn’t just build dashboards but builds narratives - this role offers the kind of impact most analysts only talk about.

This position sits at the intersection of strategy, data, and execution. It’s not about reporting for the sake of reporting - your output will be used to shape core business strategies, drive revenue growth, and identify inefficiencies before they cost the business. Interviews are moving quickly, with an offer to be extended as soon as the right candidate is identified. The expectation is for the successful hire to start as soon as available.

Duties:

  • Develop, design, and maintain BI dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
  • Collaborate with business units to understand their reporting needs and deliver actionable insights.
  • Monitor data trends and generate performance metrics to support strategic initiatives.
  • Build and maintain automated reporting solutions to reduce manual effort.
  • Assist with data warehousing and modelling to ensure accuracy and scalability of reporting.
  • Present findings to stakeholders and offer data-backed recommendations to improve business processes.
  • Ensure data integrity and validation across multiple data sources.

Job Experience & Skills Required:

Qualifications:

  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate or equivalent BI certification (advantageous).
  • Relevant BI or data visualisation coursework or certification preferred.

Experience:

  • 3 - 5 years’ experience in a BI Analyst or Reporting Analyst role.
  • Hands-on experience with data visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, or QlikView.
  • Strong background in SQL, DAX, and data transformation methodologies.
  • Experience working with large datasets from ERP or CRM systems (SAP, Dynamics, Salesforce, etc.).
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud) is a plus.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and data modelling.
  • Strong understanding of business processes and the ability to translate data into business value.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex data in simple terms.
  • High attention to detail and a strong sense of accountability.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Stakeholder management and presentation skills are essential.

Job Purpose

Minimum Experience Level
