Job Summary:
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) will represent Sun Pharmaceutical (SUN). The MSL will primarily identify and engage with a targeted group of national and regional thought leaders/healthcare professionals (HCPs) as well as payers and managed care accounts, providing the consistent delivery of educational and compliant scientific information in support of Dermatology products. The MSLs will engage with HCPs, NPs, & PAs who are in clinical practice caring for their patients. They will be trained to respond to complex inquiries in a scientific, fair-balanced, compliant manner serving as a critical field medical resource to these HCPs and also, internal SUN sales and managed markets constituents.
Responsibilities:
- Interact with healthcare providers and thought leaders to communicate and advance the scientific platform as aligned with SUN’s corporate goals and objectives.
- Communicate complex scientific information and research concepts to HCPs.
- Provide clinical and economic value information to payers and formulary decision makers.
- Identify and train members of SUN’s speakers’ bureau and ensure they are updated on new data.
- Respond to requests for investigator sponsored research (ISS) proposals and transit them into Sun and present the research to Sun for review. They will become the point of contact with the HCPs if ISS research is accepted and funded by Sun.
- Support SUN sponsored research.
- Provide feedback based on field interactions with healthcare providers and Thought Leaders to SUN stakeholders.
- Respond to scientific inquiries consistent with the MSL compliance standards.
- Foster scientific relationships between SUN and Fellows in training.
- Lead and/or participate on committees or project teams that support MSL strategies and tactics as delegated by MSL leadership.
- Seek out opportunities to support the MSL value proposition, achieve results and set an example for others to follow by consistently demonstrating SUN values and leadership attributes.
- Must have the ability to gain customer feedback, uncover business opportunities for SUN and pair customer's unmet needs with available internal resources.
- Must be a strong team player who can effectively interface with SUN clinical and commercial personnel, as well as aide in training of SUN staff.
- Demonstrate tact and professionalism when communicating and interacting with others.
- Comply with all applicable SUN Health Care Compliance SOPs and US regulations.
Qualifications:
- Doctorate / Terminal degree required (eg, PharmD, MD, DO, DNP or PhD).
- Dermatology background strongly preferred.
- 1-3 years of clinical, research and/or field medical experience preferred.
- Thorough grasp of the pharmaceutical industry, FDA requirements and PhRMA code.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, team, written and verbal communication skills.

This position will identify and develop working relationships with key decision makers in the operations and management of designated targeted IDN’s and potentially additional organized customer groups to ensure patients have access to Sun Branded products.
The HSAD will place themselves in a position to influence and educate the formulary and/or purchasing decision-making processes at all levels, including Medical, Clinical, Policy, and C-Suite executives. Key Responsibilities

Education & Qualifications
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required. A Master’s Degree is preferred.
- 3+years of account management experience or other Managed Markets experience is preferred.
- Experience working in channels such as large Payers, national and regional health plans, state and local governments, PBM's, SPP's and Physician Medical Groups.
- Prior experience with director and senior level executives within the assigned geographical area preferred.
- Proven teamwork and collaboration skills with a demonstrated track record leading highly matrixed, cross-functional work teams comprised of high-level managers and executives.

Role Purpose
Attract, acquire and retain clients by selling company products to generate new business and to provide after sales service to clients to ensure client retention, increase market share and contribute to the overall business objectives and its long-term viability
Requirements
- 2 - 3 years experience in a Sales/ Call Centre environment (essential)
- 2 years’ experience in the insurance and/or financial services industry rendering financial advice (advantageous)
- Matric or equivalent NQF 4 qualification
- National Senior Certificate in Finance/ Business Management and or equivalent relevant qualification
- FAIS Compliance Requirements
- Regulatory examination (RE) 5
- Driver’s license and own transport (desirable)
Duties and Responsibilities
Engage with prospective clients in order to highlight the features and benefits of various products based on their financial wellness needs in order to support and guide their decision-making process.
Sell products in line with client’s financial needs by conducting affordability analysis in order to achieve clients’ financial goals.
Calculated and advise on tax and legal implications of products and or changes.
Accurately capture client information, relevant actions and sales on the systems.
Accurately complete all administrative and reporting requirements within agreed timeframes.
Achieve set targets on production, quality and conversion.
Adhere to compliance requirements in the sales process in line with legislative requirements.
Provide financial advice in line with the engagement strategy to enhance client’s financial wellness.
Investigate client queries within the agreed service level and ensure that client receives timeous feedback.
Escalate client queries to the relevant department or stakeholder.
Provide accurate information and advice to clients and stakeholders in order to ensure that the client receives the appropriate services.
Provide regular reports on delivery of services against agreed service level agreements and in terms of overall customer targets.
Build and maintain relationships with clients and internal and external stakeholders.
Make recommendations to improve client service and fair treatment of clients within area of responsibility.
Participate and contribute to a culture which builds rewarding relationships, facilitates feedback and provides exceptional client service.

- Schedule sales calls, demonstrate and present products, with the mandate of revenue generation for Finfoot Lake Reserve and Dream Hotels & Resorts properties (more specific to Finfoot Lake Reserve).
- Education: Grade 12; a relevant diploma or certificate in the industry or sales field would be beneficial.
