Introduction: A vacancy has arisen for a Registered Nurse at Life Nkanyisa Algoa Psych, Mission Road, Bethelsdorp, PE. Reporting to the Unit Manager. The successful candidate will contribute towards the effective functioning of the unit and be part of a dynamic professional team striving for the highest standard of quality in healthcare.
- Patient Care : Determine and administer medication, manage patient complaints following LHC process, analyse vital data in terms of physical condition of patients and communicate reports to and from other colleagues and sub-ordinates.
- Observe reactions to medication, special diets and treatment plans.
- Implement health, safety and infection control standards.
- Contribute towards accurate record keeping by recording and reporting any changes in patients’ physical condition and referring to medical practitioners.
- Health Education : Participate in health education or learning programmes for the patients, families, communication and staff.
- In‑service training : Participate and attend in‑service training, teach sub‑ordinates and engage in CPD training.
- Material and Human Resource : Manage ward stock, accurate inventory and determine material needs.
- Supervise sub‑ordinates, delegate responsibilities, maintain discipline, orientate new employees and manage staff allocation in the unit.
