Job Description
Seeking an experienced and mature Factory / Yard / Warehouse Manager in the Scaffolding Industry to oversee fabrication, manage receiving, dispatch, and ensure smooth production processes.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Co-ordinate and oversee on-time completion of component manufacturing for orders.
- Quality control to be done on all orders.
- Supervise & manage a team of 10 factory & yard staff and ensure everyone works efficiently at all times.
- Regular communication on relevant whatsapp groups regarding the progress of each order or stock levels.
- Oversee picking, packing and labelling of orders.
- Ensure paperwork is handed in for all deliveries and returns.
- Co-ordinate different departments of the factory / yard / warehouse. Manufacturing, Dispatch, Spray Booth, Space management, etc.
- Assist with sales deliveries when required.
- Ensure vehicles are loaded for the next day each afternoon.
- Oversee all overtime work done for manufacturing / dispatch.
- Forklift maintenance. Keep track of service hours, daily vehicle checks, etc.
- Assist with driving of Forklift when required.
- Maintain stock levels of sales items. Minimum quantities to be kept on hand.
- Track inventory levels on spread sheets & liaise with management regarding order of raw materials for fabrication.
- Deal with changing priorities and at all times, know which order needs to be loaded. Ensure orders are ready timeously.
- Stock-take to be done on installation / hire orders. This must be communicated and discussed with the relevant departments.
- Ensure maintenance / upkeep of the factory / yard is done when required. This could be electrical, cosmetic repairs, roofing, concrete repairs, security and safety, access control, plumbing, etc.
- Timekeeping of all factory staff and weekly hours submission to payroll
- Problem Solving – Ensure smooth operations in the factory / yard on a daily basis
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience in fabrication or factory / warehouse management role.
- Understanding of scaffolding manufacturing, component drawings, steel sizing, etc.
- Strong knowledge of production planning and dispatch.
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office / Teams)
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong understanding of health & safety regulations in an industrial setting.
- Ability to troubleshoot production challenges.
- Able to adapt to fast changing priorities.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ yrs Experience within a similar factory / fabrication environment (warehouse management experience is a plus).
- Code 10 / C1 license
- Forklift license
- Welding Qualification (MIG Welding).
- Technical knowledge of scaffolding design, components & fabrication.
Salary will be negotiated depending on experience and skill set of the candidate.
