Job Specification

Job Summary:

• Knowledge and skill in CO2 welding
• Experience in cutting with a cutting torch
• Spray painting skills

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of experience in welding / boilermaking, including fabrication, grinding, cutting, and use of hand tools in the trailer manufacturing / maintenance industry.
• Technical knowledge of trailers is an advantage.
• Own toolbox is compulsory.
• Grade 12 (Matric).
• Computer literate.
• Valid driver's license (candidates without a valid license will not be considered).
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans.
• Own transport required.
• A practical test will be part of the assessment process. Candidates must bring their own PPE and basic hand tools on the assessment day.

We are seeking a skilled Aluminum Welder to join our automotive manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have specialized experience in TIG (GTAW) and MIG (GMAW) welding of aluminum components, ensuring high-quality, durable welds for automotive applications. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and adherence to industry standards to produce lightweight, high-strength aluminum parts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform TIG and MIG welding on aluminum sheets, extrusions, and castings for automotive parts.

• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and weld specifications to ensure accuracy.

• Inspect welds visually and using various testing methods.

• Maintain weld logs and documentation for traceability.

• Set up, adjust, and maintain aluminum-specific welding machines.

• Strong understanding of material types, heat control, and welding procedures.
• Ability to pass X-ray and ultrasonic tests.
• Physically fit and able to work long hours in demanding environments.
• Valid drivers license (advantageous).
