Requirements:
- Age between 30 45 preferred
- Previous experience working with water filtration systems
- Technically skilled with a strong hands-on, practical approach
- Plumbing experience is advantageous but not required
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel daily
- High levels of integrity, honesty, and work ethic
- Must be able to work independently and represent the company professionally

Job Description
As Environmental Technician you will provide services as required and your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Safety, Health, and Environment
- Ensure that the environmental impact remains within the statutory requirements to comply with the regulations.
- Adhere to SHEQ standards while performing the tasks.
- Read, sign off, and follow all the appropriate work instructions and standards.
- Attend safety meetings as instructed.
- Apply good housekeeping practices to clean the allocated area and ensure a hazard-free environment.
- Implement ISO14001:2015 Environmental Management standard requirements.
- Conduct audits and take necessary actions for closure.
- Assist in managing hazardous/chemical substances by reviewing MSDS, monitoring storage, etc.
- Check weather station and dust monitoring systems and calibrate equipment.
- Assist in Energy, Noise, Climate Change, and Water management.
- Evaluate and assess atmospheric and water pollutants through sample collection and analysis.
- Provide guidance and support to line managers for managing environmental concerns and ensuring a safe working environment.
- Address environmental incidents and complaints.
- Report and investigate environmental incidents, hazards, and HPHs.
- Follow up on incident, hazard, and HPH close-out.
- Conduct stormwater environmental management inspections.
- Monitor the implementation of action plans for managing environmental problems.
- Record test data and prepare reports, summaries, and charts interpreting test results.
- Contribute to Environmental Management Improvement plans and system inputs.
- Assist and support operations in regulatory compliance and adherence to regulatory measures.
- Collect water samples from various sources to assess pollution problems.
- Conduct environmental sampling and monitoring (water, dust, biodiversity, etc.).
- Perform basic calculations and enter data into the computer.
- Prepare and maintain necessary reports and records as required.
- Establish, cultivate, and sustain positive relationships with stakeholders involved in Environmental standards.
- Convert knowledge into valuable insights for projects and operations, improving business performance.
- Obtain required qualifications and certifications and comply with country-specific legal requirements.
- Apply environmental concepts to offer practical solutions that meet the environmental standards of the operations.
- Assist in developing the Departmental budget.
- Discover chances for better cost management and take action to address them or report them to your supervisor.
- Compare the work done towards the end of the project with the contract requirements and specifications.
- Consolidate the budget at the end of a project and notify the Financial Department of any unspent funds.
Qualifications
- Grade 12
- Higher National qualification in Environmental Sciences /Environmental Management on NQF5.
- ISO14001:2015 and Environmental Laws for Managers' Certificates (advantageous)
- Registration with SACNASP South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (advantageous)
- SA Driver’s License
- Knowledge of operational processes within the scope of the role.
- 3-5 years operational experience in Environmental in the Mining industry.
- Experience with environmental and natural resource issues, particularly mining and land matters.
- Risk management techniques and critical controls.
- Leadership tools for implementing a culture of purpose-led highperformance and change.
- Safety, health and environment, legislative, statutory, and regulatory requirements.
