About the role:

We are seeking to appoint an experienced and dynamic Hydrologist in our accomplished water resources management team in Cape Town or Tshwane. Role Responsibilities

Based on your diverse professional experience and technical knowledge your responsibilities will a combination of the following across various geographies:

Lead hydrological studies including watershed modelling, floodplain mapping, and water balance assessments.

Develop and apply hydrologic and hydraulic models (e.g., WEAP, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWAT, MIKE HYDRO Basin).

Analyze precipitation, streamflow, groundwater, and climate data to support water resource planning.

Provide expert input on flood risk, stormwater management, and drought mitigation strategies.

Collaborate with engineers, ecologists, planners, and government agencies on multidisciplinary projects.

Mentor junior hydrologists and review technical work for accuracy and quality.

Support stakeholder engagement and public consultation processes.

Stay current with emerging trends in hydrology, climate science, and water policy.

BSc, preferably MSc degree in Hydrology.

Registration as a Pr. Sci. Nat or equivalent

At least 5 years postgraduate experience in hydrological assessment

Familiarity with integrated water resource management (IWRM) principles

Effective planning and time management skills.

Ability to lead, mentor and manage people and have strong inter-personal and networking skills.

Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).

We are seeking a Civil Engineer to join our team in the Water Treatment sector, to be responsible for the planning, design, and oversight of construction and maintenance of water treatment facilities and infrastructure. This role involves working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects meet regulatory standards, environmental guidelines, and client expectations.

• Design and develop water treatment systems, including pipelines, reservoirs, and treatment plants.
• Conduct feasibility studies, site investigations, and Environmental Impact Assessments.
• Prepare detailed engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
• Ensure compliance with local, national, and international water quality and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with environmental scientists, mechanical engineers, and contractors.
• Monitor construction activities and perform quality assurance inspections.
• Provide technical support and guidance during project execution and maintenance phases.
• Prepare reports, documentation, and presentations for stakeholders and regulatory bodies.

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.

Continuously identify opportunities for improvement to optimize resources (manpower, energy and water), that includes utilization of industrial washing systems and time-study activities.

• Knowledge of and experience in water treatment technologies, systems and principles would be a distinct advantage
• Good communication skills, with the ability to interface with internal and external stakeholders of all levels, are important
• Must have a valid drivers license and be willing and able to travel extensively within South Africa and occasionally into Africa
• Must be willing and able to work outside normal hours during breakdowns or service requirements

• Providing field service and technical support to existing customers in the field of water treatment.
• Installing, repairing, upgrading, moving, and maintaining all onsite solutions designed and supplied to customers.
• Carrying out high quality site installations, site inspections, repairs, preventive maintenances or troubleshooting at customer site without supervision and within project timescales.
• Assisting dealer technicians in installing, commissioning, and troubleshooting faults.
• Carrying out, without supervision, corrective maintenance, within acceptable timescales, escalating any solution problems if required and maintaining ownership of the problems until the customer is satisfied.
