A leading global manufacturer of high-quality, low-maintenance centrifugal pumps requires the candidate to be responsible for managing key accounts, providing technical support on various equipment supplied and on new equipment installed and commissioned, ensuring excellent customer service continuously.
Minimum requirements- A mechanical / chemical engineering qualification is required for this role.
- Must have strong sales engineering and sales skills.
- Must have excellent technical support skills.
- Must have strong communication and customer service skills.
- Previous experience working in the pump industry is a plus.
- Previous technical sales experience within the pumps industry and an understanding of the water/wastewater treatment industry is essential for this role.
- Proven experience in specifying and selling wastewater treatment technologies / pumps.
- Strong technical acumen with the ability to understand and explain complex engineering concepts.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer relationship management skills.
- Experience working with municipalities, industrial plants, or engineering consultants.
- Knowledge of applicable environmental regulations and compliance standards.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Process Flow Diagrams (PFDS), and other technical drawing software.
- CRM and ERP System experience (e.g., Salesforce, SAP).
- Managing key accounts, providing them with technical support on various equipment supplied and new equipment installed and commissioned, ensuring excellent customer service continuously.
- Identifying and targeting new business opportunities within the wastewater treatment sector.
- Developing strong technical knowledge of products, systems, and solutions related to water and wastewater treatment.
- Conducting site assessments and evaluating water treatment requirements based on customer needs and industry regulations.
- Preparing and delivering technical presentations that explain products or services to customers and prospective clients.
- Liaising with design, engineering, and operations teams to create customized wastewater treatment solutions.
- Drafting detailed proposals, tenders, quotations, and technical documentation for customer review and approval.
- Following up on sales leads and opportunities to convert prospects into long-term clients.
- Managing and growing existing client accounts by ensuring customer satisfaction and addressing technical concerns.
- Attending industry events, trade shows, and technical conferences to stay informed on market trends and competitor activity.
- Collaborating with marketing to develop campaigns and materials tailored to the wastewater treatment market.
- Supporting project execution teams during installation, commissioning, and after-sales phases.
- Training clients and end-users on proper use and maintenance of wastewater treatment systems.
- Monitoring regulatory updates and environmental standards relevant to wastewater treatment and advising clients accordingly.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of technological advancements in the field of water and wastewater treatment.
- Providing regular reports on sales activities, customer feedback, and market developments to management.

Collaborate with engineers, ecologists, planners, and government agencies on multidisciplinary projects.
Mentor junior hydrologists and review technical work for accuracy and quality.
Support stakeholder engagement and public consultation processes.

BSc, preferably MSc degree in Hydrology.
Registration as a Pr. Sci. Nat or equivalent
At least 5 years postgraduate experience in hydrological assessment
