Job Description:
AESG are seeking a passionate and driven Waste Consultant for an exciting new opportunity to work within AESGs award winning Environment department. The ideal candidate will have a passion for environmental consultancy services with a willingness to work across multiple environmental disciplines and contribute to the continued growth of the environmental division.

We are seeking an individual who can lead the delivery of waste management projects throughout the Middle East, including waste management strategies, waste audit studies, and waste permitting programme. The individual will act as the primary contact for the waste management business unit and drive forward business development in the sector through existing networks and new relationships, including with regards to writing proposals and participating in conferences and events, as well as Project management of a variety of projects varying complexity and scale.

Responsibilities:

• Delivery of waste management consultancy projects to high levels of quality within project deadlines
• Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction
• Project management of environmental & waste management studies in the region

• Seeking opportunities for repeat work and extensions of work scope on existing projects through high level of client satisfaction
• Assist in preparing proposals when required

Essential Skills:

• Bachelor or MSc degree level in Waste Management, Environmental management or other relevant studies
• At least 5 years of experience in the implementation of similar assignments in the waste management consultancy
• Experience in waste management infrastructure design and buildings assets waste management design
• Experience in recycling activities and disposal technologies/waste treatment
• Technical expertise and leadership, particularly in solid waste management and waste management strategies, at the local, national, and regional level
• A knowledge of such areas as international resource and waste management policy and strategy, life-cycle analysis, circular economy, net zero, zero waste to landfill, waste projections and carbon modelling, waste operations and collections, waste infrastructure, sustainable procurement and, economic and financial analysis

Overview

Site Supervisor (Waste Management & Recycling Background)

Competitive salary ranging from £36,000 - £42,000. Location: United Kingdom and Ireland. Global Force Resource Ltd is partnering with a leading utility company to recruit Site Supervisors in the United Kingdom and Ireland. The Site Supervisor oversees daily site operations, ensuring safety, compliance, and efficiency. Responsibilities include managing operatives, maintaining plant and equipment, coordinating stock and waste movements, and meeting operational targets. The role requires adherence to HSEQ standards, accurate record-keeping, and effective communication with stakeholders, while maintaining a clean and organised site. Strong leadership, attention to detail, and teamwork are essential.

The successful candidate will have 3–5 years of recent and relevant supervisory or team leader experience in a waste management and recycling setting.

• Provide the safe, compliant and cost-effective running of the facility.
• Operate in full compliance with Environmental Permits, Planning Permission and other applicable legislation as laid out by Site Manager.
• Follow internal reporting requirements and ensure information is recorded and reported accurately, with checking procedures in place, and rectified if found to be incomplete or inaccurate.
• Ensure that internal and external processing deadlines are met.
• Manage the operatives on site to ensure they are safe and efficient.
• Inspect, test and maintain plant and machinery in full working order.
• Maintain high levels of cleanliness across the site, including cleaning the yard and equipment and routine housekeeping of machinery.
• Manage stock on site as directed by Site Manager.
• Arrange loads for disposal of site waste streams and manage waste off site.
• Receive waste deliveries, unload and organise containers, and sort/segregate where necessary.
• Fulfil orders in a timely and efficient manner, follow site rules for paperwork and ensure strong, proactive communication with the office.
• Improve productivity, operational efficiency and maximise throughput.
• Coordinate with transport management to ensure loads in and out are planned and organised; remove backlogs and blockages.
• Ensure the highest standards of HSEQ are maintained by all visitors and employees.
• Work effectively as part of the wider team and follow systems of work for safety.
• Take care to ensure activities do not put others at risk and maintain high concentration for safe working practices.
• Follow method statements meticulously.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely handle and move healthcare risk waste containers, boxes, and bags throughout the plant.
• Load and offload waste from collection vehicles and transfer it to the designated treatment area.
• Assist in the operation of autoclaves, shredders, or other waste treatment machinery.
• Sort, weigh, and label waste according to type and treatment requirement.
• Maintain a clean and hygienic work area, including waste processing zones, equipment, and vehicles.
• Adhere strictly to company protocols for infection control, environmental protection, and health & safety compliance.
• Ensure correct use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) at all times.
• Report any unsafe conditions, equipment faults, or incidents immediately to the supervisor.
• Support the plant’s recycling and recovery initiatives by segregating waste and minimising landfill disposal.
• Participate in safety drills, training, and toolbox talks.
• Assist during the plant’s waste sterilisation, shredding, and destruction processes as required.
• Record daily waste movements and assist with basic administrative tasks when needed.

• Grade 10 / NQF Level 2 (Grade 12 advantageous).
• Previous experience in waste management, manufacturing, or environmental services will be an advantage.
• Familiarity with handling healthcare risk waste or hazardous materials preferred.
• Physically fit and able to perform manual labour safely.
• Ability to follow instructions and work in compliance with health, safety, and environmental guidelines.
