Our client in the construction industry is seeking a Warehouse Inventory Controller.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES :
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that goods received into or sent out from the warehouse are in good condition and match the correct paperwork, ensuring accurate stock records and timely customer deliveries. The role involves managing all transaction activities, documentation of goods and equipment, and stock control.
- Receiving : Extensive experience with Goods Receipt Verification (GRV), product and costing knowledge, Goods Receipt Note (GRN) processing, and handling invoices for incoming shipments (not purchase orders). Receiving is the top priority and essential for this role.
- Inventory Control : Conducting cycle counts, stock counts, and investigating discrepancies and variances.
- Dispatch : Managing outgoing shipments, creating waybills, packing lists, commercial invoices, and quotes (for export).

Our team of experts is looking for a passionate and driven Inventory Controller to join the Absolute Pets team at our Cape Town Warehouse in Marconi Beam for a maternity cover contract.

- Conduct daily stock counts and investigate variances. Plan, organise, lead, and control warehouse inventory processes and the warehouse team to ensure high stock accuracy and process adherence.
- Perform daily checks and clean-up of all locations in Ador that hold stock during warehouse processes. Provide detailed reports to management highlighting any risks and potential financial losses.
- Maintain constant communication regarding system misalignments between Ador and IQ. Highlight and communicate discrepancies to the warehouse manager and IQ support.
- Ensure damages are reported daily and investigate root causes. Address root causes of damages with the warehouse manager and team.
- Minimize and report obsolete/redundant stock to maximise working capital.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping.
- Manage control measures to highlight, address, and resolve errors and discrepancies.
- Achieve 95% bin accuracy through weekly verifications and reporting to management.
- Manage weekly cyclical stock counts, investigate variances, and provide accurate reports for review.
- Prepare the warehouse for semi-annual stock counts.
- Ensure reporting deadlines are met daily with regular updates and handovers as agreed with the warehouse manager.
- Conduct root cause analysis on variances and provide clear reports to validate discrepancies.
- Manage bin locations and ensure timely stock replenishment.
- Implement FIFO rotation to prevent stock expiries.
- Report short or dated stock monthly.
- Manage inbound stock processes, ensuring accurate receipt and documentation.
- Ensure goods received vouchers, invoices, and credit notes are submitted, filed, and maintained.
- Follow up on outstanding documents with Finance and Commercial Departments.
- Verify that receipted stock has been accurately captured.
- Update the stock receiving register daily.
- Ensure incoming goods are GRV’d and put away within 24 hours.

Hesper Engineering a division of SGM Technical is looking to secure the permanent services of a Stock Control Coordinator to join our team in Cape Town. With the storeman reporting into this position this position will be responsible for accurately capturing and updating stock movement data and General Ledger (GL) entries for multiple store locations ensuring that the required stock levels are maintained and that service delivery is cost-effective timeous and efficient. This role is essential to ensuring the integrity of inventory records and financial reporting.
Duties & Responsibilities- Manage inventory stock levels and supplier orders.
- Capture and process daily stock transactions including stock in / out transfers adjustments and returns.
- Input General Ledger (GL) entries accurately in the financial system ensuring proper coding and categorization.
- Reconcile captured data with physical stock counts supplier invoices and system reports.
- Prepare monthly reports related to inventory movement and financial entries providing accurate financial stock level reporting.
- Ensure that all data entries comply with internal controls accounting standards and audit requirements.
- Coordinate with foreman managers and vendors for product availability.
- Coordinate with storemen foremen finance team and procurement to resolve discrepancies in stock or financial data.
