Job Description
Receiving Stock:
- Receive delivery documents from drivers upon arrival.
- Inspect incoming stock for signs of infestation, moisture, mould or any damages.
- Ensure stock is properly labelled (where applicable) and palletised.
- Offload stock using a forklift, proper handling and safety protocols are followed.
- Weigh bags and record the necessary information as directed by management, all incoming local stock must be weighed and weight recorded on bag labels.
- Sample all local inbound stock and mark samples clearly with the necessary batch details
- Once stock has been offloaded, complete and sign the Goods Received Note (GRN), confirming that no issues were found.
Despatching Stock:
- Inspect stock upon receipt of the Loading Out Instruction (LOI) to confirm that product is free from infestation, moisture, mould or any damages as well as ensuring all stock is labelled and bag weights are visible where applicable.
- Prepare stock for despatch based on the Loading Out Instruction.
- Ensure ALL product is palletised and that proper handling and safety protocols are followed.
- Complete and sign the Goods Despatched Note (GDN) as well as the outgoing inspection report.
Quality Assurance:
- No broken/ damaged pallets are permitted for storage or despatch
- Visual inspections of pallets and stock to take place bi-weekly as well as prior to loading out to avoid any potential issues or delays while loading.
- Any issues or signs of problematic product needs to be reported immediately.
- All local stock to be sampled upon receipt.
- Ensure all samples are adequately labelled and sent to CRF weekly for NIR testing.
Rebagging:
- Maintain records for full traceability of bag weights before, during and after stock has been re-bagged.
- Report any and all foreign objects/ materials, weight variances and discrepancies or any other issues encountered during the re-bagging process to the supervisor.
- Ensure all re-bagged product has an accurate and visible bag label with the final weight reflecting on the bag label.
Stock Organization:
- Store all product in such a manner where labels are clearly visible for effective stock counting and neat presentation at all times.
- Ensure that all stock is spaced properly and that bags are easily accessible
- Do a full weekly stock count on Mondays and submit the full stock count to Head Office by close of business every Monday.
- Count and confirm empty pallets and bags every Monday
Requirements:
- Must have Grade 12 (NSC)
- 2 years experience in Warehouse / Cold Storage environment
- 2 years experience operating a forklift
