An exciting opportunity exists for a National Sales Manager Food Service and Wholesale at I&J . As the successful incumbent you will lead, manage, and grow the Food Service and Wholesale channel across South Africa and selected African markets. The role is accountable for developing and executing strategic sales plans, managing a team of Key Account Managers, and ensuring customer partnerships, stock and pricing optimisation, and compliance across domestic and export markets. The position ensures profitable growth, long-term sustainability, and operational excellence in line with I&J’s commercial objectives.

Key Areas of Impact:
Strategic Channel Leadership- Develop and implement the National Food Service & Wholesale strategy aligned to I&J’s domestic sales objectives.
- Lead and manage Key Account Managers (KAMs) across customer groups, ensuring clear targets and strategic alignment.
- Drive customer segmentation, strategic planning, and execution to expand channel presence and share.

- Support and guide KAM’s in customer visits, joint business planning and promotional execution.

Requirements- Minimum educational qualification: Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Dietician.
- Registration with a Professional council: Registration with the HPCSA as a Dietician.
- Experience: A minimum of three (3) years’ experience after registration with the HPCSA as a Dietician.
- Inherent requirement of the job: Valid driver’s licence. Willing to travel throughout the Western Cape Province. Incumbent must be willing to travel away from the office as required and perform duties outside normal operating hours.
- Competencies (knowledge/skills): Knowledge in food services and related field. Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills. Proven computer literacy. Report writing and analytical skills. Sound management, facilitation and presentation skills.
- Facilitate the updating, development and promotion of provincial implementation guidelines, standard operating procedures and logs for food service management.

- Implement provincial standardized full menu, specialised diet menu and associated recipes.

- Establish monitoring and evaluation tools and mechanisms for food service management.
- Facilitate provincial and national food service management audits, including milk kitchens.
- Ensure Food Service Units (FSU’s) comply with environmental health legislation.
- Develop and control quality standards and specifications for tenders and contracts related to food service management.
- Identify and develop suitable food service management training programs in collaboration with the Directorate: People Development.
- Develop and maintain an appropriate information system for FSU’s.
- Provide input on the layout and design of FSU’s for newly planned hospitals and existing FSU’s being renovated or upgraded.
- Monitor and provide input into FSU equipment budgets.
- Conduct situational analyses to identify gaps and provide guidance to policy and budget decision makers.
- Assist District Management and Hospital Management to oversee the more technical and complex aspects in respect of the FSU’s at the small district hospitals where no provision for food service management posts have been made.
- Work closely with the Directorate: Service Priorities Coordination Early Life Course Unit and the Nutrition Focal Persons to ensure FSU’s align with the Provincial Programmes and Guidelines for the provision of optimal nutrition as part of the treatment care plan for hospital inpatients.
