Laurent & Laurent Lounge Venue Manager
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Managing all bookings for weddings and events and liaising with the clients to determine event requirements.
- Preparing venue hire packages and pricing options and negotiating with clients.
- Executing all weddings and events at the venue.
- Supervising all staff including event staff, and maintenance personal.
- Promoting the location and events through a variety of marketing channels such as social media.
- Ensuring that the venue and facilities are clean and organised.
- Managing all administrative tasks such as invoicing, insurance and booking schedules.
- Scheduling and coordinating the rental of sound equipment, furniture, and other venue equipment.
- Liaising with catering services and supervising their requirements and logistics.
- Communicating and enforcing all Lourensford Wine Estate regulations and protocols.
- Ensure that the department delivers a consistently high standard of client service. Also, achieve business objectives and maximise the profitability of all outlets. Maintain effective cost controls in all areas.
- Work alongside Director to ensure the smooth running of the day-to-day operations.
- Be responsible for maximising profit through the consistent delivery of the highest standard of service.
Requirements:
- Ability to work under pressure, with difficult clients and to multitask and remain calm in stressful situations.
- Excellent promotional ability and knowledge of marketing channels and techniques.
- Great interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Excellent communication skills in both Afrikaans and English.
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills.
- Strong negotiation skills and leadership abilities.
- Willingness to work long hours and on weekends and holidays.
- Good knowledge of events and hospitality industry
- Excellent administrative skills and proper knowledge of Xero, Microsoft office and iOS systems.
- Ability to work on various projects at a time.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines.
- A minimum of 3 year's experience as a venue or event manager preferred.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in events management, hospitality, or similar preferred.
