REGISTERED NURSING SISTER - 4 Year Diploma or BCurr (SANC registered)
The ideal candidate will be experienced in managing people, processes and resources; professional nursing processes and practices; employee training and development; gerontology/geriatrics and the ageing process; nursing care plans; assessments for the aged including the physically and/or mentally frail. Work with a diverse team and have excellent management and communication skills. Should be able to evaluate the standard of care services and make recommendations. Knowledge or experience in palliative care is an advantage.
The candidate should demonstrate competence in designing nursing care plans to support the development of activities of daily living, aligned with nursing needs and assessment outcomes. Must be competent in scheduling activities and resources and delivering services to residents. Must be skilled in diagnosis and (within legal constraints) treatment of illnesses. A valid Code 08 driver's licence is essential. Must be proficient in English and Afrikaans. Must be computer literate and able to work on all Microsoft Office packages. Must be able to deal with staff, clients and family enquiries effectively and professionally.
Must be positive and proactive in caring for the aged and dedicated and committed to identifying needs and providing person-centred care. The incumbent will need to be observant and enthusiastic but must also be patient, empathetic, and understanding of limitations.
