We are seeking an experienced Server Technician to join our team, responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining our server infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Windows Server operating systems (2000, 2003, 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019), virtualization technologies (Microsoft Hyper-V and VMWare), and physical-to-virtual (P2V) conversions.
Responsibilities:- Strong understanding of IT and virtual infrastructures.
- Document procedures, standards, and activities.
- Install and prepare servers for shipment.
- Rack and stack server equipment.
- Perform basic server configuration, including network setup and remote access.
- Install and deploy Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 up to Server 2019.
- Create server operating system deployment images.
- Manage System Centre Configuration Manager.
- Configure and manage Microsoft Hyper-V 2012 R2 and 2019.
- Implement Microsoft Cluster Services.
- Provide remote support, resolve technical issues, and assist with all operating systems.
- Install, configure, monitor, troubleshoot, and evaluate operating systems.
- Collaborate with database programmers, analysts, and other system administrators.
- Direct technicians in diagnosing and correcting system failures and managing systems.
- Apply principles, methods, and procedures of information processing.
- Completed Grade 12 (Matric).
- 3-5 years of relevant experience.
- Business communication skills and understanding.
- MCSE certification.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Hyper-V (advantageous).
- Knowledge of VMware (advantageous).
- ITIL certification preferred.
- Valid driver’s license (non-negotiable).
- Own transport is essential.
- Propose workable solutions and improvements.
- Perform standard system installations with minimal supervision.
- Work effectively under pressure.
- Operate server hardware, software, LAN, and WAN equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic software, hardware, and network issues.
- Communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.

Design, deploy, and manage Citrix solutions including:
Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD)
