Priorities will change according to business requirements; however, it is an expectation of that the candidate will also have the following:
ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Undertake and deliver high quality transportation impact assessments for any land-use development type for project in South Africa, and in Africa to relevant local or lender standards.
- Assist with transport planning projects for road authorities, government and developers under principal review.
- Proven experience, including but not limited to:
- Transportation Impact Assessments for any type of land-use development
- Assessment and conceptual design of non-motorised transport infrastructure
- Assessment and conceptual design of public transport infrastructure
- Working knowledge of Transportation planning for small to medium scale land-use or transport upgrade projects
- Experience in the design of traffic signal layouts and traffic signal timing plans
- Plan and organize traffic and transport field investigations for analysis, including providing interpretation of traffic data in a collaborative team environment.
- Prepare practical technically competent reports, documents and proposals under principal review.
- Contribute in the implementation of corporate HSSE programs across our office teams.
- Communicate with potential clients undertaking business development in the property, energy, logistics, transport and mining sectors

Skills:
- Significant traffic and transport planning consultancy experience in South Africa and in countries abroad
- Ability to manage client relationships, time management, and ability to manage small projects.
- Ability to write high quality technical reports (in English), strong English communication skills and critical thinking skills are essential.
Qualifications
- A completedBEng/BSc/BTech in Civil Engineering
- 5 to 10 years relevant experience
- Must be registered as Candidate Engineer with ECSA, and nearing professional registration.
- Proven track record in utilizing traffic and transport planning software:
- Proficient in SIDRA intersection and network analysis.
- Working knowledge of interpreting and assisting with EMME and VISSIM modelling.
- Driver’s licence

Our Global Design Centre (GDC) Water team is recruiting to support a key Australian client who has a growing water business. Specifically, the team is looking for engineers who wish to pursue a design-focused career in the water sector, for bulk conveyance and treatment infrastructure.
We are looking for individuals who have a strong engineering background in bulk water or wastewater infrastructure projects and wish to become leading technical specialists in the water sector.
Role Responsibilities
- Perform complex engineering designs, calculations, and analysis of water or wastewater infrastructure and systems.
- Be responsible for the design of water and wastewater infrastructure systems (specifically including pump stations, pipelines, and treatment facilities), with key contributions on 3D models, technical drawings, and details.
- Produce other key deliverables on projects, such as technical reports, specifications, and procurement documentation.
- Assist with the management and delivery of water projects to a high quality within constrained timeframes.
- Demonstrate sound knowledge in the use of a variety of civil engineering analysis software and apply advanced skills with 3D engineering modelling software.
- Have a sound understanding and working knowledge of BIM processes.

- A working knowledge of engineering design software and analytical tools applicable to the envisaged role.
Advantageous Experience and Competencies
- Construction related experience on bulk water/wastewater infrastructure projects.
- Capability in Autodesk suite of engineering software (e.g., Civil 3D, Revit, Inventor, Navisworks, or InfraWorks).
- Capability in using common data environments such as ACC/BIM360 or ProjectWise.
- Capability in transient (surge) analysis of pipelines.
- Capability in Computational Fluid Dynamics modelling.
