General Manager: Infrastructure Planning & Asset Management (IPAM)

We are looking to fill a position for a General Manager: Infrastructure Planning & Asset Management. The successful candidate will manage the compilation of the annual capital budgets and longer-term capital plans for the company as well as all planning related to the water and sanitation infrastructure including reticulation, reservoirs, pump stations, and wastewater treatment works. Candidates should possess extensive experience in Infrastructure Planning.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Prepare the departmental contributions to the company 3-year Strategic Plan and the Annual Business Plans regarding capital and 3-year medium plan.
  • Evaluate and prioritise risks and assess the options for accommodating the risks.
  • Develop departmental management plans and authorise implementation of the plans.
  • Oversee the capital budget planning, initiation of projects and keeping pace with the requirements of other sections of the company and relevant external bodies.
  • Develop, review, manage and report on infrastructure Asset Management in alignment with asset management Policy and procedural guidelines.
  • Monitor, review and approve development applications within the City of Johannesburg.
  • Monitor and manage conceptual scoping assignments.
  • Review the departmental organisation structure and make recommendations for possible improvements.
  • Develop systems and procedures for the management and control of the departmental performance and deliverables.
  • Control departmental expenditure by ensuring spending is appropriate and necessary for achievement of objectives.
  • Develop and implement compliance management systems. Participate in Committees to facilitate the review and implementation of long-term projects.
  • Establish a culture of excellence through performing and discussing the performance appraisal of department heads and providing opportunities for departmental staff members to develop their competencies.
  • Approve the training needs of the department after the performance appraisal.
  • Manage the monitoring, forecasting, demand for water, generation, and treatment of wastewater.
  • Ensure that adequate monitoring, forecasting and demand management investigations are carried out on an ongoing basis to allow for timeous augmentation of the water and sanitation infrastructure.
  • Manage infrastructure planning to ensure compliance with the City’s development plans.
  • Manage investigations into adequacy of capacity and condition of existing water and sanitation infrastructure as well as requirements for future developments.
  • Manage the preparation of the annual capital budget and longer-term financial plans for the company.
  • Manage the preparation and maintenance of the Water Services Development Plan.
  • Manage resources to ensure effective and efficient strategic planning. Set and report on performance monitoring indicators on a monthly basis.
  • Ensure alignment of asset management practices to local government, national treasury and international guidelines and best practice.
  • Manage wayleave application and building plan submission and approval.
  • Evaluate and approve township development applications.
  • Approval of engineering scheme reports and construction drawings.
  • Manage the development and access to GIS applications.
  • Oversee updating and maintenance of GIS systems and Asset Management systems.
Desired Experience & Qualification
  • B Tech/ Bsc Civil Engineering (NQF 7)
  • Must be registered for Pr. Eng or Pr. Tech
  • Must have 15 years post qualifications experience in Civil Engineering of which 5 years is at a Senior Management Level in the Local Government environment.
  • Experience in developing and implementing policies and procedures, strategy development, business planning, troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Excellent knowledge of planning environment and development control processes.
  • Proven experience in effective people management and leadership.

Technical Resources & Support

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Zone Planner located in Cape Town. The Transportation Planner will be responsible for planning and optimizing routes, analyzing transportation data, coordinating with drivers and stakeholders, monitoring compliance with transportation regulations, and implementing improvement initiatives. The Planner will also work on developing strategies for cost reduction, efficiency improvement, and enhancing overall fleet performance

Qualifications

  • Experience in route planning, logistics, and transportation management

Voor onze opdrachtgever, een internationaal logistiek bedrijf, zijn wij op zoek naar een Junior Transport Planner. De organisatie opereert wereldwijd in de sectoren Transport, Logistiek en Supply Chain Management. Je bent werkzaam op de afdeling Transport Planning, die bestaat uit ongeveer 20 medewerkers. Met hen werk je samen voor toonaangevende vervoerders en klanten.

In deze functie heb je een coördinerende rol in een dynamische werkomgeving. Je gaat veel en snel schakelen met andere afdelingen. Focus, samenwerking en nauwkeurigheid zijn belangrijk in deze job. Je takenpakket ziet er als volgt uit:

  • Het assisteren van de transportplanners;
  • Het inplannen van transporten onder begeleiding van de ervaren planners;
  • Het onderhouden van contacten met klanten, chauffeurs/vervoerders en interne afdelingen;
  • Het administratief afhandelen van de planning.

In deze functie kun maak je je het vak van transport planning eigen. Het is een informele organisatie met een open sfeer, en voor de langere termijn zijn er doorgroeimogelijkheden.

Functie-eisen

Wij zijn op zoek naar een gedreven kandidaat met een afgeronde MBO- of HBO diploma, bij voorkeur in de richting Logistiek of Transport. Je bent een teamplayer en voelt je thuis in een informele setting. Je beheerst het Nederlands, Engels en Duits in woord en geschrift en herkent jezelf in het volgende profiel:

  • Je hebt een ambitieuze en leergierige instelling;
  • Je hebt affiniteit met de transportbranche;
  • Je hebt uitstekende communicatieve en sociale vaardigheden;
  • Je kent het Office pakket, ERP en WMS (of bent bereid dit te leren);
  • Je neemt graag initiatief, werkt accuraat en bent stressbestendig.

Wil jij werken bij een internationale speler in afval en recycling? REMONDIS in Mierlo zoekt een ervaren Planner Transport die structuur aanbrengt in een dynamische werkomgeving!

Wat ga je doen? Als Planner bij REMONDIS in Ermelo zorg je er samen met vijf collega’s voor dat de planning voor zo’n 55 chauffeurs vlekkeloos verloopt. De afval- en recyclingbranche is continu in beweging en dat vraagt om scherpe keuzes en snelle schakels. Jij stemt dagelijks af met de chauffeurs, verkoopafdeling, klantenservice en andere interne afdelingen.

Je maakt een efficiënte rittenplanning waarbij je rekening houdt met service, kosten en wet- en regelgeving. Ook stuur je chauffeurs aan, handel je klantverzoeken af en verwerk je ritten administratief. Je ziet knelpunten én verbeterkansen en komt zelf met verbetervoorstellen.

De sfeer in Ermelo is open en familiair. Korte lijnen, een praatje met de chauffeurs, en samenwerken aan een goede dagplanning – dát is werken bij REMONDIS. Deze functie komt vrij doordat collega Bram intern doorgroeit naar een andere vestiging.

Wat neem je mee?

  • Een aantoonbare ervaring in een plannings- of coördinatiefunctie, bij voorkeur in de logistiek of afvalbranche;
  • Een goede beheersing van de Nederlandse taal, zowel mondeling als schriftelijk;
  • Een probleemoplossende instelling en een hands-on mentaliteit;
  • Een natuurlijk leiderschap en ervaring met operationele aansturing van teams;
  • Een betrokken en stressbestendige werkhouding;
  • Eigen vervoer om naar de standplaats in Ermelo te komen (max. 30 kilometer).
