We're seeking an Transport Planner to support the Management Team with the day-to-day operation of the Transport Department, responsible for a group of operators and ensuring an efficient Transport operation in achieving business targets. Provide line management to the assigned group, coordinating their workloads, providing support to ensure that the team delivers, monitoring any issues, and ensuring operational targets, KPIs, and quality standards are met to meet the requirements of the customer.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Daily operations management
- Daily planning of next day operations
- Management Vehicle bookings and Customer order planning .
- Dispatch procedure
- Delivery procedure
- Debrief procedure
- Returns procedure
- System application and maintenance (TMS) & other systems used with in the Transport department for dispatch or tracking daily operations and results.
- Investigating process breach and provide a detailed report, Ownership of daily load planner, (i.e. follow up with Transport service provider for fleet numbers and ETA's and drivers' details)
- Smooth functioning of the daily operations and any tasks and instructions assigned to you by a superior
Shunt Management
- Ensure that the pre-inspection trip sheet is completed at the beginning of each shift
- Ensure All shunt trucks are in a roadworthy condition prior to departure
- Report of faults to respective service providers Incident/Accident investigations conducted.
- Daily analysis of usage and usage reports and serviceability.
- Reporting of truck breakdowns as well as following up on truck serviceability.
- Ensuring vehicle are serviced and maintained in accordance with service intervals and safety standards.
- Shift Planning (Correct number of staff for the shift)
TMS Management
- Proficiency in Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
- Ensure customer orders are uploaded on to TMS for next day operations before 17:00 daily
- Ensure load information is updated and kept up to date in TMS daily
- Ensure POD.s are uploaded Daily on completion of every delivery
- Following up on tracking events escalated by the control tower in a timely fashion
- Ensure costings in the system per load is up to date for each load
- Ensure drivers are captured in the system and drivers' info is up to date
Cost Management
- Profit and Loss percentage mark up on each load and profitability targets
- Vehicle utilization
- General expenses (stationary usage etc.)
- Control of damages (at pint of loading, & driving incidents etc.)
- Monitor transportation costs and financial performance, implementing cost-saving measures where possible.
- Monitor the department's GP per week
Customer Management
- Ensure customer orders are attended too in a timely fashion.
- Ensure collection and delivery info is recorded accurately and comprehensively with in TMS and relevant reports.
- Daily updates to customer on collection enroute, delivery confirmation delays or issues
- Provide updates on shipment statuses.
- POD management and ensuring the POD is available on TMS and uploaded on completion of each delivery.
- Customer support on queries and query management.
- ISO and business management system.
People and Staff Management
- Task Allocation: Assigning tasks, duties, and responsibilities to team members.
- Performance Monitoring: Tracking staff performance, productivity, and adherence to safety standards.
Maintenance Management
- Vehicle Inspections: Ensuring regular vehicle inspections are conducted.
- Maintenance Scheduling: Coordinating vehicle maintenance and repairs.
- Defect Reporting: Identifying and reporting vehicle defects or issues.
- Preventive Maintenance: Ensuring preventive maintenance tasks are performed.
- Collaboration with Maintenance Teams: Working with maintenance teams to resolve vehicle issues.
- Set-up a weekly maintenance meeting

Any other duties or ad hoc tasks to perform
- Fleet optimization: Analysing routes, capacity, and utilization.
- Cost management: Monitoring fuel consumption, maintenance costs.
- Safety initiatives: Implementing safety programs, training.
- Compliance: Ensuring adherence to regulations, laws.
- Project management: Overseeing transport-related projects.
- Data analysis: Analysing transport data to improve operations.
- Emergency response: Coordinating responses to transport-related emergencies.
- Stakeholder management: Liaising with internal/external stakeholders.

Als Planner bij REMONDIS in Ermelo zorg je er samen met vijf collega's voor dat de planning voor zo'n 55 chauffeurs vlekkeloos verloopt. De afval- en recyclingbranche is continu in beweging en dat vraagt om scherpe keuzes en snelle schakels. Jij stemt dagelijks af met de chauffeurs, verkoopafdeling, klantenservice en andere interne afdelingen.
Je maakt een efficiënte rittenplanning waarbij je rekening houdt met service, kosten en wet- en regelgeving. Ook stuur je chauffeurs aan, handel je klantverzoeken af en verwerk je ritten administratief. Je ziet knelpunten én verbeterkansen en komt zelf met verbetervoorstellen.
