The purpose of the position is to formulate and execute tactical strategy and associated plans for the dealership; responsible for achievement of objectives/ performance targets and high levels of service delivery; maximising profitability through the sale of vehicles, parts, labour and related products; and ensuring control of cash flow, stock and assets relevant to profit requirements and suitable return on investment.

Position Overview

The purpose of the position is to formulate and execute tactical strategy and associated plans for the dealership; responsible for achievement of objectives/ performance targets and high levels of service delivery; maximising profitability through the sale of vehicles, parts, labour and related products; and ensuring control of cash flow, stock and assets relevant to profit requirements and suitable return on investment. Specific Role Responsibilities

Key Tasks:

  • To develop strategies to drive dealership revenue, profitability and market share in the relevant area.
  • To achieve and exceed financial targets as per agreed budget.
  • Ensure achievement of profit margins and financial objectives, good cash flow, forecasting, monitoring and controlled availability of vehicle and parts stock a/p projected demand.
  • Build and maintain a professional relationship with vehicle manufacturer/s.
  • Optimally manage and control the cross-functional areas in the dealership.
  • To formulate and implement dealership practices in compliance with corporate governance and legal requirements, MOTUS policies and OEM guidelines.
  • To manage assets of a dealership optimally (cash control/flow, liquidity, stock, debtors, creditors, etc.).
  • Ensure high standards of quality and workmanship are delivered.
  • Maintain and increase market penetration.
  • To ensure customer acquisition and retention via customer focused interventions in the dealership.
  • To generate enthusiasm and set an appropriate brand example in line with the franchise/s standards.
  • To be informed and up to date regarding competitor intelligence and awareness via proper market analysis.
  • Manage stock turnover ratios, stock holding values and sales to meet company objectives.
  • Track the performance to measure and improve operational efficiency for the dealership.
  • Facility management, ensuring compliance with OHS requirements, CI rules and general housekeeping is well maintained at all times.
  • Develop and implement people capacity plans in line with delivery, performance objectives and budget.
  • To provide effective leadership and people management in order to attract, develop and retain high quality and success orientated dealer staff (DP's key focus is to act as an effective "manager of managers").
  • Create a positive work climate and culture to energise employees, give meaning to work, minimise work disruption and maximise employee productivity.
Qualifications and Experience

Experience Required:

  • 8+ years relevant motor industry experience, of which at least 3 years dealer operations management experience.
  • Exposure to various motor industry business disciplines at the highest level within an automotive retail environment such as business area financial management, sales, brand management and Service process and Parts knowledge is necessary.

Minimum Qualification/s Required:

  • BComm degree NQF7+ or other relevant tertiary business/ commercial qualification – preferable.
  • Recognised Management/ Leadership Diploma or Certificate – desired.

Other Requirements:

  • Valid, unendorsed driver's license and the ability to competently & legitimately drive.
  • Computer literate; highly proficient in Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint and Word.
  • A working knowledge of the application of OHS, NCA, CPA, FICA and other legislation and frameworks relevant to the retail motor industry.
  • A working knowledge of the application of Labour legislation.

  • Liaise with Due Diligence on passed calls and provide contracts to order entry to capture
  • Prepare and distribute the purchasing stats
  • Prepare submission summary
  • Print invoices which need to be deducted from the dealer payment. Depending on the outstanding invoices
  • Process clawbacks, reversals and out of warranties.

  • Scan and e-mail dealer payments debit notes, credit notes and technical invoices

Overall purpose of the job:

The successful incumbent will be responsible for providing assistance and support to the Dealer Development Manager and the Dealerships with regards to client query resolution, other means of correspondence handling and administration functionalities as required, maintaining due diligence and accuracy.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Updating and distributing of daily, weekly and monthly statistics (i.e. weekly purchases, DDM Reports, Commitments, etc.)
  • Managing the contract process to ensure that all contracts are accounted for and received as per Listener data provided
  • Customer complaint resolutions: Managing client queries, complaints and the moving of clients to ensure that all matters are promptly resolved and referring those to Dealers where their assistance is required
  • Managing General Dealer correspondence
  • Processing the reversal of claw backs and distribution thereof to Dealers and ADT Finance departments, in addition to providing Dealers with information required regarding their clients within the 1 year warrantee period
  • Providing Dealers with feedback regarding potential claw backs on a weekly basis and continuously following up on them
  • Ensuring compliance with the Code of Conduct, specifically, with reference to sales, technical and SMS testing forms
  • Providing Dealers with assistance in obtaining customer codes and credit vets within the standard operating procedure timeframes
  • Undertaking active premise checks
  • Reporting on area activity, sales, cancellations, operations and potential opportunities
  • Reporting to be completed timeously and accurately on a weekly and monthly basis
  • Coordinating all training and meeting interventions and ensuring that the specific requirements thereof are met
  • Managing the administration duties of marketing initiatives
  • Undertaking active premise checks
  • PA duties for the Dealer Development Manager
  • Assist DDM to ensure dealers comply with ADT Standard operating procedures
  • Issuing of stationary and promotional items
  • Arranging business reviews and training sessions

Minimum qualifications and experience:

  • Matric or equivalent qualification
  • At least 1 to 2 years' experience within a customer service-orientated environment
  • A minimum of 3 years administration experience
  • Project management experience would be highly advantageous
  • Computer literacy in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Outlook
  • Experience on Listener would be advantageous
  • Experience of Dealer program software would be advantageous

Position Overview

The position of Dealer Principal is responsible for achievement of objectives/ performance targets and high levels of service delivery;maximising profitability through the sale of vehicles, parts, labour and related products; and ensuring control of cash flow,stock and assets relevant to profit requirements and suitable return on investment. The key focus areas of this role is leading people, achieving results and driving business growth. This role requires an experienced, dedicated person who enjoys autonomy; is aligned to the brand; has a visible, hands-on leadership approach, and is confident in achieving business growth.

Specific Role Responsibilities
  • Deliver bottom line results while ensuring compliance to company policies and corporate governance.
  • Ensure all departments achieve profit margins agreed to in their objectives/ budgets.
  • Manage cash flow, stock and assets at an optimum level commensurate with profit requirements and a satisfactory return on investment (including cash control/flow, liquidity, stock,debtors, creditors, etc.).
  • Manage stock turnover ratios,stock holding values and sales to meet company objectives.
  • Build and maintain a professional relationship with vehicle manufacturer/s.
  • Develop strategies to drive dealership revenue, profitability and market share in the relevant area.
  • Develop and encourage strong working relationships at all levels in the business.
  • Ensure high standards of quality and workmanship are delivered.
  • Ensure customer acquisition and retention via customer focused interventions in the dealership.
  • Ensure dealer compliance to franchise/OEM standards and target requirements, and MOTUS policies.
  • Be informed and up to date regarding competitor intelligence and awareness via proper market analysis.
  • Forecast and track the performance to measure and improve operational efficiency for the dealership.
  • Facility management, ensuring compliance with OHS requirements, CI rules and general housekeeping is well maintained at all times. Oversee that we set an appropriate brand example in line with the franchise standards.
  • Ensure that there is people capacity in line with delivery, performance objectives and budget.
  • Provide effective leadership and people management (DP's keyfocus is to act as an effective"manager of managers").
  • Create a high performing, positive work climate and inclusive culture in the dealership.
  • Responsible to motivate and coach employees, give meaning to work, minimise work disruption and maximise employee productivity.
  • Recruit, develop and retain skilled staff to meet business requirements through the sale of vehicles, associated products, parts and labour, according to financial resources available, in order to create profitability for the company whilst providing total customer satisfaction.
  • Encourage effective teamwork,self-management and alignment with business values from all dealership staff.
  • Oversee decisions taken by line managers related to recruitment,selection & development, with a view to placing the right person in the right job at the right time,while adhering to dealer Employment Equity plan & targets.
Qualifications and Experience
  • 8+ years relevant retail motor industry experience, of which atleast 5 years dealer operations management experience.
  • Effectively managing and leading teams.
  • Knowledge of vehicle financing.
  • Management of vehicle stock & parts stock.
  • Managing vehicle sales and associated products, parts sales and labour sales.
  • A sound understanding of finance and financial transactions.
  • Sound knowledge of Manufacturer and Distributor requirements. OEM brand experience – preferable.

Minimum Qualification/s Required:

  • Senior Certificate (Grade 12/Matric) is a minimum educational requirement.
  • A tertiary business/ commercial qualification, including sales & marketing – preferable.
  • Recognised Management/Leadership Diploma or Certificate– desired.

Other Requirements:

  • Valid, unendorsed driver's license and able to competently & egitimately drive.
  • Computer literate; highly proficient in Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience on DMS (Drive) is highly desired.
  • Experience of driving salesthrough social media and traditional methods.
  • Knowledge of governance and compliance regulations and requirements.
  • Good administrative skills.
  • A working knowledge of the application of OHS, NCA, CRA,FICA and other legislation and frameworks relevant to the retail motor industry.
  • A working knowledge of the application of Labour legislation.
