Overall Purpose
Zutari's Transport Unit is seeking an Engineer / Technologist who specialises in Traffic & Transport Engineering to join our Transportation Planning section. This is a great opportunity in George, Southern Cape Province looking to join a dynamic transportation team.
Key Responsibilities
- Working with and supporting a team of experienced and specialist traffic and transport engineers
- Technical management of transport engineering projects, which range from small traffic impact assessments through major public transport planning, implementation and operational management projects running over many years
- Participation in the administration of projects in line with company requirements
- Lead or assist with compiling tenders for any Transport Planning/Traffic Engineering related opportunities
- Plan all types of field surveys, engaging with surveying team, and analysis of results
- Planning oversight and involvement in existing Integrated Public Transport Network (IPTN) route operations
- Planning of new public transport routes as necessitated by demand
- Scheduling of public transport services, including the development and amendment of timetables
- Clear and concise reporting of any investigations undertaken in both report and presentation formats
- Attendance and reporting at various meetings with Clients, operational teams and third parties etc.
- BEng /BSc / BTech Engineering qualification
- 5-10 years relevant working experience with an interest in Transportation Planning / Public Transport
- Should be able to speak English and Afrikaans
- Ability to develop and enhance client relationships
- A self-motivated individual with the ability to work under pressure
- Ability to work in a team environment, within a client office and other 3rd parties
- Must have a valid South Africa driving licence and be willing and able to travel, when required.
