Our client is a supplier of raw materials and food ingredients based in Johannesburg North.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe successful applicant will be responsible for the following:
- Research and evaluate suppliers, negotiate price, and manage relationships with international vendors, predominantly Chinese suppliers.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure purchase orders are confirmed, cover is booked, and goods are shipped timeously.
- Evaluate potential suppliers based on price, quality, service, and delivery.
- Maintain relationships with existing international suppliers and identify new supplier opportunities.
- Other related duties.
Qualifications
- Matric.
- Diploma in Purchasing/Supply Chain Management or Equivalent.
Skills
- Minimum 6 years of experience buying.
- Must have solid knowledge and experience within the food and ingredients industry.
- Knowledgeable about HS-codes/Custom Duty.
Salary / Package
R360k CTC, Provident Fund, Medical Insurance, Group Life.

- Valid Code EB driver’s license.
- Fluent in another official African language.
- EE/AA candidates will be given preference in line with our Employment Equity targets.
- Essential: Applicable certification and/or an NQF/QCTO SHE qualification and registration as a Safety Manager by the SACPCMP.
- Ideal: Applicable diploma and/or an NQF/QCTO SHE qualification and registration as a Safety Manager by the SACPCMP.
- 7 – 10 years’ work experience in a Construction environment.

Construction Health & Safety Officer – Cape Town
A Health and Safety Company working predominately in the Construction Industry is looking for a Health and Safety Officer to be based in Cape Town.
Requirements for the position :
· Minimum five years’ experience in the construction industry.
· Registered by South African Council for the Project & Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP) as an CHSO or in the process of registering . CHSM (Construction Health and Safety Officer) also accepted.
·Understanding of applicable legislation.
·Must be able to work to a deadline.
·Must be able to works nights (where applicable).
Main Responsibilities (but not limited to these only) :
·Keep up to date and ensure compliance with applicable legal & other requirements,
·Investigate health & safety incidents and accidents, determine root cause, and implement corrective actions where required.
·Conducting safety inspections and develop risk assessments for new activities and machinery.
·Report on health & safety related activities to Safety Consultants management.
·Supervise clients’ Health and Safety Representative.
·Conduct and lead health and safety meetings.
·Identify hazards and determine ways to reduce or eliminate risks in the workplace.
·investigate health-related complaints and cases of ill health,
·Listen and investigate health and safety related issues from employees and address them with management.
·Identify hazardous waste, correct safe use, and the correct disposal thereof.
·Promote safety initiatives.
·Inspect equipment regularly for safe use.
·Obey any reasonable and lawful instruction from line management.
Skills
·Strong written and verbal communication skills
·Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
·Observation skills (attention to detail)
·Good interpersonal skills and a willingness to work with people at all levels.
Other Requirements
·Must have own reliable and fully insured vehicle.
·Clean criminal record
