About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Form-Fill-and-Seal (FFS) Machine Operator and Maintenance Technician to join our production team in Paarl. This role is critical to the efficient and smooth running of our packaging operations. The ideal candidate has deep industry knowledge, hands-on technical skills, and the ability to troubleshoot and maintain FFS equipment with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, and optimize vertical/horizontal form-fill-and-seal machinery
- Perform scheduled and preventative maintenance
- Diagnose mechanical faults and perform repairs
- Ensure equipment is set up correctly for each production run
- Maintain production records and ensure adherence to quality standards
- Work closely with the production and QA teams to minimize downtime and optimize efficiency
- Comply with health and safety regulations and standard operating procedures
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience operating and maintaining FFS machines (preferably in the food or FMCG industry)
- Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues
- Solid understanding of packaging machinery safety standards and production workflows
- Ability to work independently and remain calm under pressure
- Matric certificate or equivalent; technical trade certification preferred
- Own transport to Paarl factory location
