- TMM Mining equipment experience.
- Sound knowledge and experience in the maintenance, repairs and fault finding of the following equipment: Drill Rigs (DD320, DD321, DD321, DD420, DD421 & DD422i), Long Hole Rigs (DL421, DL422i, DL432i & Rhino Machine), Cable Bolters (DS421, DS422i & DS412i), Roof Bolters (DS411), Maclean Bolter (946), LHD (LH410, LH517i & LH621i), Dump Trucks (TH430), TH540 & TH551i), Shotcrete (Normet), Manitou and Agicars etc.
- Sound knowledge and experience on the maintenance and repairs of PDS, PDI, Camera’s, lighting circuits of diesel machines & real time systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills, especially with regards to auto-electrical problems in UG TMM mining and ancillary equipment.
- Planning and control of maintenance schedules as per SAP PM.

Job Description :The Engineering Trackless Mobile Machinery (TMM) Artisan Electrician in the VUP area requires a suitably qualified individual to maintain and assist in the operation of TMM equipment and systems according to sound engineering practice and equipment specifications.

Your role will include but is not limited to:
- Planning activities in accordance with production schedules and resource allocation.
- Assisting in ensuring that TMM electrical equipment and installations meet design, installation, and maintenance standards.
- Conducting hazard assessments for equipment and installations in accordance with procedures.
- Maintaining and repairing TMM electrical equipment, specifically drill rigs, long hole rigs, cable bolters, roof bolters, LHDs, dump trucks, and other specified equipment.
- Ensuring equipment used in underground mining is certified and suitable for such environment.
- Aligning maintenance activities with planned schedules and maintaining relevant records.
- Adhering to policies and procedures.
- Communicating effectively with stakeholders to minimize production delays.

Role Description:
This full-time, on-site position in Simon’s Town is for a junior electrical maintenance engineer. The role involves performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems while collaborating with technicians and senior engineers. The junior engineer will also support maintenance projects and hardware testing and contribute to engineering processes aimed at improving equipment reliability and efficiency.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance checks, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical equipment and systems.
- Collaborate with the engineer and technician teams to ensure effective maintenance operations.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections and maintenance activities.
- Assist with planning and managing maintenance-related projects.
- Support testing of hardware in production and operational environments.
- Apply electronic engineering principles, including circuit design and system integration.
- Assist with configuration management and documentation in line with company and client standards.
- Contribute to engineering changes and obsolescence management processes.
- Assist in developing preventative maintenance plans to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (BSc / BEng) - (Required)
- Relevant certifications or licenses in electrical engineering are advantageous.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and system diagnostics.
- Practical knowledge of digital and analog electronics, circuit debugging, and fault-finding.
