Location: ZA, GP, Johannesburg, 5 Simmonds Street
To define, develop, and maintain solution architectures and designs for specific business areas, aligned to initiatives, while providing high-level roadmaps for implementing these solutions in alignment with a common technical direction. Ensure the successful delivery of these roadmaps by guiding the technical teams working on related projects and initiatives, offering thought leadership throughout the program. This role requires an understanding of emerging technologies, including Generative AI (Gen-AI), to drive digital transformation and enhance customer experiences.

Experience Required: Enterprise Technology & Solutions Architecture
5-7 years: Good understanding of Agile working practices and LEAN and SCRUM proficiency and working collaboratively across teams. Experience gained in the management of platforms and operating systems
8-10 years: In-depth experience in designing innovative solutions within technology businesses such as Authentication Systems, System, Platform, and Account Migrations, Enterprise Solution Architecture (ESA), Business Architecture, Information Architecture, Application Architecture or Technology Architecture with a balanced mix of skills covering technologies and industry knowledge.
8-10 years: Work experience in one or more Technology areas including but not limited to: IT architecture, infrastructure, and cloud development, engineering and software architecture design, Business analysis, DevOps, Project and product management

Job Description
As part of this team, you will work with the functional owners who are usually positioned in the Centres of Excellence and People Operations to ensure that all people systems and technologies are leveraged to deliver effective and cost-efficient processes. You will be accountable for the full life cycle of technology products: requirements gathering, vendor selection, solution design and configuration, deployment, sustain, adoption and solution retirement.
Duties & Responsibilities- Priority setting: understand sub-functional strategy, processes and ways of working and align with functional owners on priorities and plans.
- Run a requirements gathering/Joint application development session to gather new requirements.
- Business Case: provide input to functional owners on business cases specifically on the product deliverables.
- Accurately document functional requirements specifications clearly defining project objectives.
- Construct complex process models and create UML models.
- Solution Design: translate functional and business requirements into a technology ideally leveraging the out of the box processes and functionalities of our preferred technology vendors (buy, configure, build). Basic principles: standardisation and simplicity, putting the user at the centre of the process and technology design.
- Solution Configure: provide the IT Services configuration teams with input on configuration and support with relevant testing activities.
- Deployment and delivery: based on the deployment priorities and plans set by the functional owner, work with the regional People Systems and Tech teams on deploying the technology solutions.
- Sustain: work with the IT Services team on solution RUN and maintenance as per IT Services technology operating model. Accountable for potential escalations acting as the single point of contact back to functional owners, IT services and technology providers.
- Architecture: work with the People Systems solution and overall ERP architects to ensure solutions are flawlessly integrated into People Systems and technology landscape and roadmaps and overall ERP architecture and roadmaps/plans.
- Release strategy: ensure releases are reviewed, prioritised and tested in collaboration with functional owners, IT Services (configurations) and strategic vendors and support change management and communication activities where necessary.

A position has become available for a Head - Technology Shared Services to join our dynamic team.
The purpose of the Head: Technology Shared Services role is to lead and transform the technology capability into a comprehensive technology shared service underpinned by a service delivery mindset. With a focus on building technology shared service maturity, service compliance and service cost management, to manage risk, performance, and investment decisions, while driving increased operational efficiencies, reducing costs, and delivering a stronger edge in services.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Responsible for delivery of technology shared services across the SPAR Business including technology, infrastructure, CX, and demand to deploy departments.
- Builds and implements ‘technology as a service’ vision, roadmap, and plans.
- Develops the departmental budget in collaboration with the National IT Executive.
- Leads the IT infrastructure and network strategy, defining and reporting on support metrics.
- Leads the devices, telecommunication, and mobility strategies.
- Leads the demand to deploy change management programme.
- Creates a service catalogue, service management operating model via shared services and relevant management frameworks for various portfolios.
- Reviews maturity & progress of ITSM Service Management framework/ITIL implementation & adoption.
- Continuously monitors and evaluates service performance.
- Reviews and selects a demand methodology and governance framework that encompasses Change Demand and Prioritisation and Programme Management.
- Leads the IT business continuity strategy, aligned with the overall business continuity strategy, reporting on IT continuity metrics.
- Ensures compliance with and monitoring of technical security strategies, regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Accounts to the National IT Executive, Finance, Legal and other stakeholders on defined Key Performance Metrics for technology shared services.
- Provides inspirational leadership and leads high-performing teams.
- Forms strategic relationships with senior key business stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A Computer Science, Commercial or related Bachelor’s Degree.
- At least 15 years’ management experience in Technology services or related function.
- Proven experience in driving a service transformation vision and outcomes.
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience working with and coordinating multi-business stakeholders across multiple geographies.
Skills Requirements:
- A proven track record in managing multiple business demands.
- Proven understanding and capability in translating business strategy into Technology shared service delivery is essential.
- Proven strong vision and Leadership skills with demonstrable strategic, transformation and direction setting in a technology services environment.
- Customer service orientation and very good stakeholder facilitation skills.
