Minimum requirements:
- MSc Eng in Civil Engineering
- PrEng
- Pr CPM (advantageous)
- Minimum 15 years' experience in designing Water and Wastewater utilities and related technologies (e.g., water distribution, pump stations, pipelines) at Senior Management level
- Experience in a commercial environment with successful financial proposal preparation
- Strong technical and contracts management skills in Water Engineering to command respect from peers, senior engineers, reporting employees, and clients
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Project management skills for planning, organizing, and controlling complex projects
Your responsibilities will include:
- Technical and project management of Water and Wastewater utility designs and related technologies at Senior Management level
- Engineering contracts management (FIDIC, NEC, JBCC, GCC)

Job Overview:We are seeking a skilled Technical Project Manager to oversee and support the team in the design and production of bespoke museum exhibitions and interactive displays. The role involves providing support in managing the entire lifecycle of custom-built projects, integrating advanced AV technology, such as touchscreens, sensors, and electronics, and coordinating diverse fabrication processes including carpentry, metalwork, 3D printing, and model making.
Key Responsibilities:Oversee and manage the design and production of custom-built museum exhibits and interactive displays by providing planning and management support to the team.
- Coordinate and interface with Procurement, Finance and Support Departments
- Compile and manage supplier contracts
- Supplier communication and progress tracking
- Create project reports for management review
- Build and manage project plans on Monday.com
- Team support (resources, software, tools etc)
Client Site coordination (manage information for integration)
- Project scope control & budget alignment
- Project lifecycle and documentation management
- Facilitate clear and effective communication between the production team, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Directly report to head of department and senior project managers and maintain direct communication with clients.
- Manage project handover stages, ensuring all Standard Operating Procedures are adhered to.
- Monitor and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and exceed client quality expectations.
- Manage compliance with industry regulations, building codes, and safety standards in all aspects of exhibit production throughout process.
- A background in design for manufacture, especially in the furniture and retail POP industries.
- Proven experience in project management, particularly in design and fabrication of custom-built products. (Relevant project management qualification would be an advantage. )
- Ability to review and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with various fabrication processes, including carpentry, metalwork, 3D printing, and model making.
- Exceptional coordination and management skills for handling subcontractors and diverse project teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with suppliers and clients.
- Proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to high quality standards.
- Experience in exhibit design, fabrication, and installation an advantage.
- Knowledge of structural engineering principles, materials science, production, and manufacturing processes an advantage

Engage in the full lifecycle of Process Automation products, including:
Requirements gathering
Project planning and execution
Algorithm development and modelling
Software implementation
Documentation:
Create and maintain thorough documentation throughout the product lifecycle, including:
Software requirements:
Project deliverables and timelines
Flow charts, diagrams, and user manuals
Ensure software releases comply with ISO 9000 standards
Processes and Tools:
Investigate and implement efficient processes for software development.
Research, test, and implement tools to enhance software development, such as SCM and compilers
Product Support:
Support Production, Service, and Sales teams with queries related to Process Automation equipment
Provide occasional client support as needed
Lead new design projects for customers, from initial enquiry through to the implementation phase, including:
Expertise in algorithms and data structures for embedded software
Proficient in C programming language
Experience with embedded software development tools (SCM, compilers, etc.)
Familiar with embedded Linux systems and scripting languages like Python or JavaScript
Knowledgeable in electronic hardware used in embedded software environments
Self-driven with the ability to work independently as well as in a team
Strong documentation skills, capable of creating user-friendly manuals
Excellent organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
Minimum requirements
BSc Electrical Engineering, BSc Computer Science, or equivalent qualification
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar environment, developing embedded software
Experience with ISO 9000 quality management systems
Product development experience will be advantageous
Leadership experience will be an added advantage
Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.
