Compile and manage the safety file for the project Assist the contractors to compile safety files Updating weekly and monthly safety reports Do plant inspections Understand requirements of project Health and Safety plan to ensure project Health and Safety Plan and company Health and Safety Management System is implemented on project site Perform/facilitate preparation, review and modifications of risk assessments as required, for all project activities Maintain accident/incident record for on-site and off-site accidents related to project employees, vehicles, assist project personnel for preparing first information report Ensure regular inspections of tools, equipment and vehicles are performed, deficiencies corrected, and record maintained using appropriate forms Arrange and conduct emergency drills for identified emergencies on project Ensure work area environment is maintained safe through the proactive enforcement of Health and Safety rules and regulations Ensure subcontractors are aware and comply with Health and Safety rules and regulations on site Participate in audits and ensure follow-up and closeout of corrective actions for the findings raised during internal and external audits Assist Project Health and Safety Specialist in organizing and facilitating project Health and Safety meetings to review Health and Safety performance as necessary and participate in client meetings as requested. Customer orientation. Fluent in English Passion for Safety Additional Experience and Requirements: 18 months applicable experience in a Safety environment and Construction environment. Valid driver's license and own transport You will be required to pass a medical fitness certificate to be considered for this position Qualification Requirements: National Diploma in Safety Management or applicable NQF Level 6 qualification (ISO 9001; ISO 14001; ISO 45001).
