Job Description
This role acts as a subject matter expert in an Investment operations environment and applies their knowledge in the execution and oversight of complex investment activities.
The incumbent will play a significant role in the upskilling of more junior staff and acts as the point of escalation to resolve issues.
The incumbent will also be required to compile statistics and develop reports that can be used for management decision-making.
The incumbent may be required to act as an expert resource on projects and will be individually accountable for achieving results through own efforts.

Identify, within the team, instances of noncompliance with the organization's policies and procedures and/or relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct, reporting these instances and escalating issues as appropriate.
Document Preparation
Organize and prepare complex documents using a variety of applications for technology devices, such as standard office software. Also responsible for gathering and summarizing data for special reports.
Data Collection and Analysis
Collate and analyze data using preset tools, methods, and formats. Involves working independently.
Information and Business Advice
Resolve queries from internal or external customers or suppliers by providing information on complex processes and the related policies, referring issues to others where necessary for interpretation of policy.
Regulatory and Compliance Management
Investigate standard incidents using current regulatory and compliance processes, systems, and procedures, and take action to solve immediate compliance issues. Advise more senior colleagues on more complex problems.
Personal Capability Building
Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.

Job Opportunity at 1Nebula:
This is a fixed-term contract role for 12 months based in Cape Town. The main purpose of this position is to provide effective service delivery to clients of Nebula. Secondly, to ensure that all service requests and incidents are resolved expeditiously, with a high level of expertise and professionalism to the complete satisfaction of the client.
What You will do within this role (Your key responsibilities):
- Service Delivery Administration
- Manage incidents and service requests by resolving, investigating and escalating to relevant stakeholders as required.
- Effect any change control activities which may be required.
- Ensure that all failures, as required by the client, are communicated to the IT management Forum.
- Provide input to Steercom, change control, project and any other operational meetings with the client.
- Compile and prepare various reports or inputs thereto, as required by the client.
- Attend to the programming of systems.
- Attend operational meetings for the purposes of providing technical or subject matter specific input.
- Manage the video and teleconference facilities and conduct testing on a regular basis to ensure that the technology/ equipment are functioning optimally.
- Advise the client on bandwidth requirements to support the desired telecommunications infrastructure and network.
Achieve all project timelines implemented by Nebula or the Client.
Knowledge Management
- Contribute to the group's telecoms knowledge.
- Participate in training/networking sessions and events for both the client and Nebula employees, where required.
Continuous technical knowledge development, within the telecommunications field, by devising an active and deliberate plan of research and active study.
Product Development
- Convert customer requirements into telecoms requirements, which could result in the new products.
- Provide input into feasibility studies pertaining to the developing of new products.
Provide input relating to new offerings in the market.
Design and Architecture
Provide input into the development and design of telecommunications systems and infrastructure.
Continuous Service Improvement
Recommend areas in which the systems can be improved on site to secure costs savings for the client or additional value adds.
Vendor Interaction and Administration
- Liaise with providers with regards to the full spectrum of service delivery requests.
- Ensure that vendor meetings are scheduled on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Analyse stats supplied by vendors and recommend improvements on monthly basis.
Provide regular reports pertaining to vendor deviations and variations.
Asset/Site Data Management
- Maintain an asset register.

This role requires a short-term specialist in the Financial Services environment with in-depth experience on personal lines and commercial lines including specialist classes. It is based in our Technical Adviser Support team. The role is overall responsible to support a large network of advisers with complex advice related matters in PSG Insure. This includes working closely with product providers ensuring that our product suite remain competitive.
Responsibilities:
- Subject matter expert and manager of the large case review process including presenting the case and findings to senior management
- On an ongoing basis, evaluate, review and improve large case process
- Subject matter expert on technical product and advice matters including but not limited to adviser focused meetings and relevant technical/distribution committees
- Working with cross-functional teams on strategic distribution projects where Insure SME's are required
- Assist with the provision of content to technical adviser support team (Technical Advisory Services) and marketing in relation to advice and distribution activities.
- Draft, review and sign-off communication for marketing purposes in relation to advice and distribution activities.
- Collaborating with cross-divisional teams on product and product provider due diligences.
- Provide ongoing technical advisory support to advisers and distribution teams (proactive and reactive)
- Draft of communication on technical topics eg TakeNotes and Advice for Advisers
- Represent Technical Advisory Services as Insure Product expert on Technical Advisory Services and non-Technical Advisory Services related committees
- Research on ad hoc projects
- Effective management of direct reporting staff
- Responsible for facilitation of Technical Training on Personal and Commercial Lines for the Advisor Development Programme
Minimum requirements:
- NQF5 in Short-term insurance or relevant short-term insurance qualification
- 7+ years' experience in personal and commercial lines with exposure to underwriting and claims processes
- Knowledge of short-term insurance products
- Experience engaging at an EXCO/Senior Management level
- Exposure to working directly with financial advisers
