Technical Oversight

1. Provide technical guidance and decision-making support throughout the project lifecycle.
2. Ensure adherence to engineering standards, codes, and safety regulations.
3. Conduct regular technical reviews, quality checks, and audits.

Stakeholder & Communication Management

1. Act as the primary point of contact for all national-level technical project matters.
2. Maintain clear, timely communication between internal teams, external vendors, and stakeholders.
3. Prepare and deliver progress reports, dashboards, and executive summaries.

Risk, Compliance & Governance

1. Identify potential risks and develop proactive mitigation strategies.
2. Ensure compliance with national regulations, health and safety policies, and industry best practices.
3. Maintain accurate project documentation for governance and audit purposes.

Budget & Resource Management

1. Develop and manage project budgets, tracking expenditures against forecasts.
2. Allocate resources effectively across regional teams.
3. Approve procurement and vendor contracts in line with project needs.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

1. On-time project delivery percentage.
2. Budget adherence rate.
3. Technical quality and compliance score.
4. Stakeholder satisfaction rating.
5. Number of critical risks successfully mitigated.

Preferred qualifications/attributes/skills:

1. Grade 12 certificate.
2. Tertiary qualification preferable.
3. Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed.
4. Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
5. Excellent technical knowledge in relevant engineering/IT domains.
6. Advanced project management expertise (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
7. Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities.
8. Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
9. Clear criminal record

• Develop and manage the project, communication, resource plans and processes.
• Analyze all management and technical processes to ensure they’re delivered as expected.
• Meet regularly with project stakeholders and define project goals and objectives.
• Lead budget and resource allocation through all project phases
• Generate regular reports to update stakeholders and manage projects.
• Establish and train teams on processes and strategies.
• Oversee day-to-day technical operations, including assignments and personnel review.

Job Purpose:

We are seeking a skilled Project Manager to lead change management projects within the UJ Human Capital Managementdivision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the change management planning, execution, and delivery of projects ensuring effective management of risks and resistance.
• Be a part of the team to develop, implement and project manage change management strategies.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with executives, managers, employees, and unions to ensure alignment and support of projects in the UJ Human Capital Managementdivision.
• Facilitate communication, engagement, and training interventions to drive change readiness.
• Monitor and report to senior management on project progress, risks, and outcomes, whilst ensuring delivery within scope, budget, and time.

Minimum requirements

• A Bachelor's degree (NQF Level 7) in a Business related field.
• At least 5 years' experience in project management with a track record in human resource change management initiatives (e.g., Conditions of Service, Policies, etc.).
• Proven experience in leading complex organisation-wide change initiatives.

Competencies and Behavioural Attributes:

• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies.
• Expertise in change management.
• Understanding of HCM practices and information systems.
• Facilitation, presentation, and report-writing skills.
