About the role:
Zutari is seeking to hire a Technical Director to assist in leading multi-disciplinary engineering projects in the water and wastewater treatment field. The roles will be based in Zutari's Cape Town or Tshwane offices and civil, mechanical, and chemical engineering candidates will be considered.
Responsibilities will include:
- Engineering management and leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
- General project management.
- Ensuring timeous and high-quality delivery of project work.
- Building a relationship of trust with clients.
- Demonstrating eminence in your field and development of new business.
- Development of engineering expertise and solutions with a focus on enhancing efficiency through digital information management, workflows and delivery.
- Typical engineering work in the water and wastewater treatment field, delivered yourself or via others you supervise, including:
- Complex engineering tasks, investigations, studies, assessments, calculations and analyses.
- Water and/or wastewater treatment infrastructure design.
- Hydraulic design for water and wastewater treatment.
- Preparation of engineering reports
- Preparation of tender documentation and associated specifications.
- Contract administration.
- Guidance, mentoring and line management of a team of engineers, technologists and technicians.
- Collaborating with colleagues and clients across multiple engineering and other disciplines and across geographies.
- Ensuring that all work complies with Zutari's quality control procedures and that required quality standards are maintained.
Minimum Requirements:
- B Eng or BSc (Eng) in Civil engineering, Mechanical engineering, or Chemical engineering.
- A master's degree in water and/or wastewater treatment or other post-graduate qualification in a similar field.
- Registration with ECSA (or equivalent) as a Professional Engineer.
- 12 or more years of experience in water and wastewater treatment engineering projects. The successful candidate will be appointed to a position and role commensurate with his or her experience.
- Willingness to work in a team with the expectation that you will learn as well as share your knowledge with and mentor others.
- Strong time management and organisational skills, with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- A valid Code EB driving license (or higher).
Advantageous Competencies:
- Water and/or wastewater treatment process design and optimisation, and a foundational understanding of aquatic chemistry.
- Registration as a Professional Construction Project Manager (Pr CPM) with the South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP) and/or as a Project Management Professional (PMP with the Project Management Institute (PMI).

The Job
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Services Director to lead the implementation of technical services across all Tiko markets. In this role, you will oversee the implementation of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) and Mental Health services, while also managing the clinical Quality Assurance department to ensure high standards across all areas. Key responsibilities include:
- Develop a strategic plan for the department, focusing on integrating technical services into operations
- Oversee the implementation of technical services across all Tiko markets, ensuring consistency and quality
- Contribute to standardization of the user journey for each technical service across our markets
- Build and strengthen strategic partnerships with governments, implementing partners, and funders for new offers
- Ensure alignment with national guidelines for technical services in each market
- Build internal capacity to adhere to new standards across all offers and markets
- Document learnings around the implementation of new offers to enhance future efforts
- Ensure the achievement of deliverables for technical services in all markets
- Drive research efforts to gather insights and evidence-based practices on SGBV, Mental Health and Quality Assurance. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to publish articles that contribute to the field and enhance Tiko's thought leadership.

Requirements
- Background in Public Health with proven experience in designing and measuring public health programs (mandatory).

- At least 3 years in a similar role, leading the strategies and the department for SGBV, Mental Health and clinical Quality Assurance
- Experience in sexual and reproductive health (SRH) with adolescents and young people (AYP)
- Must be detail-orientated and take pride in helping the team to deliver on high-quality outputs

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.Minimum of 5-7 years of hands-on experience as a SAP Technical Consultant, with at least 3 years specifically in SAP EPM (Enterprise Project Management) modules.Proven track record in supporting and maintaining SAP R/3 ECC6 EHP7 environments, including experience with EHP upgrades.At least 2 years of experience working with SAP S/4 HANA, including familiarity with its architecture, Fiori apps, and embedded analytics relevant to EPM.Experience in project-based consulting, particularly in providing technical and functional support for ERP systems.Essential Skills
