Technical Designer
to join their growing team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in developing detailed design packs, producing technical documentation, and ensuring compliance throughout the design and build process. You'll work closely with engineers, consultants, and suppliers to deliver projects that meet the highest standards of quality, buildability, and client satisfaction.
This is a remote position open to those living anywhere in South Africa.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Produce detailed CAD drawings and contract packs from RIBA Stage 3–5.
- Create GA plans, elevations, RCPs, joinery details, and as-built documentation.
- Ensure designs comply with UK Building Regulations, CDM, fire safety, and accessibility standards.
- Write specifications and produce technical schedules for projects.
- Collaborate with engineers, QSs, contractors, and suppliers to resolve technical challenges.
- Provide site and project support to maintain design intent and accuracy.
- Maintain and evolve internal CAD standards and design libraries.
- Contribute to sustainability and continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills, Experience & Requirements:
- 5–7 years of technical design or construction detailing experience.
- Proficient in
AutoCAD
and
Revit
(BIM workflow experience desirable). - Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations and compliance standards.
- Proven ability to produce high-quality drawing packages.
