The Role

As the Senior Technical Designer, you will manage the technical aspects of all apparel categories from initial design development prototypes to final approval for production. You will lead fit sessions in collaboration with Design and Product Development, ensuring the technical, functional, and physical fit are appropriately executed to achieve the design aesthetic. You will identify potential production, quality, and costing challenges and make recommendations. Effective communication with business partners, overseas offices, and factories on all development updates is crucial to drive the final results required. • Develop and manage the technical specification packages for apparel prototypes.
• Comprehensive understanding of physical fit; evaluation of body size, shape, and the relationship of clothing on the target body.

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Apparel Manufacturing, Design, Patternmaking, or equivalent.
• 8+ years’ experience in the Apparel Industry including patternmaking and construction experience with full knowledge of the total production timeline.
• Experience working effectively in complex global organizations, satisfying the needs of diverse constituents and often working under the pressure of competing and sometimes conflicting priorities.
• Expertise in fit, patterning making, and construction.
• Working knowledge of grading and manufacturing methods.
• Production patternmaking, grading, and construction for multiple product types & categories.
• Ability to proactively troubleshoot and problem solve.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively influence.
• Strong computer skills - PLM, Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience in Patternmaking software; Gerber, Lectra & Optitex a plus.
• Experience in 3D software Browzwear.
