Job Description
Tax Compliance Oversight: Ensure the accurate and timely preparation and submission of all corporate, indirect, and withholding tax returns, along with other statutory filings, for the funds and subsidiary investment entities.
The focus will be on tax filings and reporting across the APAC region and the US.
Stay updated on tax law changes and evaluate their potential impact on the business.
Work with external advisors to meet country-specific compliance requirements.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate tax risks by ensuring proper documentation and robust process controls.
Assist with audits and tax inquiries by providing relevant documentation and coordinating with authorities.
Maintain a solid compliance framework to minimize exposure to penalties and disputes.
Process Optimisation: Enhance and automate tax compliance processes to improve efficiency and precision.
Establish and implement best practices for tax reporting and compliance.
Collaborate with finance and operations teams to ensure accurate tax data management and reporting.
Tax Reporting: Supervise quarterly and annual tax reporting, including deferred tax calculations and reconciliations.
Ensure adherence to global and regional tax reporting standards.
Provide regular updates to the Director of Corporate Taxation on key compliance activities.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Serve as the main point of contact between external tax advisors and internal teams to resolve compliance issues.
Support cross-functional projects by offering expertise on tax compliance matters.
Lead training sessions to raise tax awareness within the organisation.
The Successful Applicant: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field is required.
A professional qualification (CPA, CA, or CTA) is preferred.
At least 5-7 years of experience in tax compliance, with exposure to multi-jurisdictional tax issues in the Asia region (preferred).
Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of international corporate tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
Experience with US tax matters or familiarity with Asia jurisdictions is a plus.
Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to non-tax professionals.
Leadership: Proven experience in managing cross-functional teams and coordinating with external advisors.
Adaptability: Capable of working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.

- Complete Individual, Corporate and Trust Income Tax Returns
- Complete Provisional Income Tax Returns 6 monthly within the deadlines
- Ensuring that all clients are tax compliant.
- Reconciling and completing additional returns and queries ie, Income Tax Audits, DWT Returns and Donations Tax Returns
- Compiling Notice of Objections (NOO), Notice of Appeal (NOA)
- Preparing Tax Audit Responses for the client as and when necessary
- Arrange Tax Compliancy to ensure Tax Clearance Certificate including foreign investment certificates.
- Prepare applications to Waiver interest and Penalties.
- Compiling and assisting the Company’s External Associate with Tax Compromises and Deferments.
- Prepare and file with SARS repayment arrangements for clients.
- Ensure internal controls are complied with including the invoicing timeously of all tax work performed.
- 4 – 5 years of minimum experience in tax practice.
- Related professional qualification and membership of an accounting/tax body is preferred.
- Deadline focused, detailed and accurate.
- Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.
- Needs to be fluent in English and Afrikaans
