The role is hybrid based with office and home office, with agreed regular office time to manage and coach staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complete Individual, Corporate and Trust Income Tax Returns
- Complete Provisional Income Tax Returns 6 monthly within the deadlines
- Ensuring that all clients are tax compliant.
- Reconciling and completing additional returns and queries ie, Income Tax Audits, DWT Returns and Donations Tax Returns
- Compiling Notice of Objections (NOO), Notice of Appeal (NOA)
- Preparing Tax Audit Responses for the client as and when necessary
- Arrange Tax Compliancy to ensure Tax Clearance Certificate including foreign investment certificates.
- Prepare applications to Waiver interest and Penalties.
- Compiling and assisting the Company’s External Associate with Tax Compromises and Deferments.
- Prepare and file with SARS repayment arrangements for clients.
- Ensure internal controls are complied with including the invoicing timeously of all tax work performed.
- 4 – 5 years of minimum experience in tax practice.
- Related professional qualification and membership of an accounting/tax body is preferred.
- Deadline focused, detailed and accurate.
- Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.
- Needs to be fluent in English and Afrikaans
- Experience with ProfSoft, e-Filing, and SARS

My client is seeking an experienced Tax Compliance Officer. This role is responsible for individual income tax and related tax compliance support for the broader business. The suitable candidate will have prior individual income tax experience, with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
Responsibilities:
- Completion of return of income, including submission of return to SARS, and calculations of tax payments and ensuring execution of same
- Timeous data capture of all relevant data on tax management tools
- Check assessments and follow-up on errors
- Raise objections to assessments, and attend to enquiries raised by SARS, incl all supporting docs
- Request and remit payments and attend to client refunds from SARS
- Liaison with internal and external clients, and support departments as needed
- Client liaison: timeous response to attending to and resolving all queries; regular and ongoing feedback relating to progress and confirmation of finalisation of matters to internal and external clients
Requirements:

The purpose of the Compliance, Tax and Secretarial Officer will ensure that all its subsidiaries complies with all applicable tax laws, financial, secretarial and compliance regulations in South Africa. DUTIES:
Secretarial (40%)
- Prepare company resolutions and obtaining signatures
- Maintain resolution register
- Communicate with Company Secretaries
- Ensure compliance with CIPC regulations
Compliance (40%)
- Ensure compliance with local regulations (KYC, FIC, POPI )
- Ensure compliance with Banking requirements and reporting
- Ensure financial policies and procedures are aligned with statutory regulations and best practices
- Assist with bank administration
Taxation (20%)
- Prepare and submit tax returns including VAT, Dividend, Income Tax and Provisional Tax to SARS
- Manage SARS correspondence, audits, verifications, and objections/disputes
