Our client is seeking a Tax Assistant with a background in tax or accounting to join their team. The role involves bookkeeping, accounting, and tax administration duties, with the main focus on tax compliance and SARS submissions.
This is a permanent, in-office position based in Table View (no remote or hybrid work). The role will commence in January 2026.
Key Responsibilities
Bookkeeping for multiple clients.
Maintain accounting records, including fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules.
Process payroll using Sage Online Payroll.
Prepare and submit statutory returns to SARS, including EMP201, EMP501, VAT201, IT12, and IT14.
Liaise directly with SARS regarding client disputes or queries.
Assist with preparation of personal and company tax returns.
Work with accounting software such as Pastel Partner, Sage One, Xero, and QuickBooks.
Assist with CIPC submissions and company compliance.
Undertake other administrative or financial duties as required.
Minimum Requirements
Qualification (or currently studying) in Accounting or Taxation.
1–2 years’ relevant experience in accounting and tax.
Good working knowledge of SARS eFiling.
Proficiency in Pastel, Sage, Xero, or similar systems.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Reliable, punctual, and professional.

Monday to Friday: 08:30 – 16:00
