About The Job

The Business Data Analyst - ERP & Reporting (Odoo) will be responsible to transform raw operational data into accurate, actionable insights that support decision-making, improve efficiency, and enable reporting across the company’s Operational Departments using Odoo.

The Business Data Analyst - ERP & Reporting (Odoo) will also be expected to collaborate closely with Operational Managers, the GM, and COO to understand reporting needs, business context, and operational drivers, in order to build, maintain, and improve interactive Power BI dashboards for real-time and predictive insights. The Business Data Analyst - ERP & Reporting (Odoo) would enable self-service reporting by setting up reusable templates and visualizations, as well as, interpret data to identify trends, anomalies, and performance drivers.

This role will be expected to present insights to Operational Managers, the GM, and COO in an accessible and actionable format and provide recommendations based on historical patterns and forward-looking projections. This will include, building data views that support operational triggers (e.g., stock thresholds, order delays, OTIF) and integrating forecasting insights into operational reporting tools.

Job Overview

Business Segment: Group Functions

Location: ZA, GP, Johannesburg, 30 Baker Street

To develop TCM Group reports, associated dashboards, with detailed visualizations to communicate TCM metric insights effectively. Prepare & present data governance reports, dashboards, & metrics to senior leadership, & to monitor compliance with data governance policies & assess effectiveness of data management controls. Lead the Group TCM Reporting and Regulatory Data compliance function both internally and externally, including TCM financial risk reports included in AFS & associated booklets.

Qualifications

Type of Qualification: Post Graduate Degree
Field of Study: Finance and Accounting
Licenses & Certifications: Certified Data Professional, Chartered Accountant (CA)

Experience Required

Finance & Value Management
More than 10 years
Institutional knowledge of SBG and all legal entities. Solid prior experience to enable the incumbent to identify key risk or issues as they arise. Strong experience in delivering well governed monthly executive reporting processes, board reporting and external reporting, with excellent visualisation skills for financial storytelling. Experience in scrutinising data and challenging information to ensure completeness and accuracy. Data management and governance skills critical.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Manager of Data Regulatory Reporting to Lead strategic Basel & IFRS9 Reporting at Africa’s foremost bank.

Based in Johannesburg (hybrid), this Senior Manager : Data Regulatory Reporting position pays R1.3-R1.4M per annum plus banking benefits.

THE ROLE

As Senior Manager of Data Regulatory Reporting, you will lead a high-performing team focused on Basel and IFRS9 data reporting, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while improving reporting accuracy and efficiency. You will work closely with business leaders, project managers, and stakeholders to define priorities and drive strategic delivery. Your role will involve overseeing data governance, risk management, and compliance, ensuring that all reporting solutions are timely, accurate, and aligned with business requirements. You will apply Data Warehousing methodologies such as Ralph Kimball and DAMA, along with technologies like SAS, SQL, Oracle, and Microsoft Azure, to optimise reporting structures and automate processes. Additionally, you will build strong stakeholder relationships, ensuring projects meet deadlines, budgets, and quality standards while fostering a data-driven culture that aligns technology with business objectives.

THE REQUIREMENTS

7+ years' experience in Data Warehousing and regulatory reporting (Basel / IFRS9), with hands-on expertise in SAS, SQL, Oracle, and Microsoft Azure.

3+ years' project management experience leading data teams.

Strong knowledge of IT architecture, SDLC, ITIL, governance, risk, and compliance principles.

Proven leadership in managing delivery teams, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Finance, or related field (Postgraduate / MBA advantageous).

Preferred certifications in SAS, SQL, Oracle, Microsoft Azure, DAMA, Data Warehousing, Leadership, and Basel / IFRS9 Financial Reporting.
