This person will report to the Network Manager .
Purpose of the Role:As the Network Systems Engineer at Herotel, you will be responsible for the implementation, support, and maintenance of all network systems. You will also be responsible for provisioning new systems to meet the network team's business goals.
Key Performance Areas:- Setting up and managing all network-related systems required to meet organizational objectives, including installation, configuration, support, and maintenance.

Qualifications

- DNS servers and records

Senior System s / Network EngineerPosition Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Network /System Engineer to join our team. This role requires a skilled professional with a solid background in network infrastructure, particularly with Palo Alto, Cisco Catalyst, and Meraki equipment. The ideal candidate will possess advanced knowledge of both Windows and Linux operating systems, with security expertise viewed as a significant advantage. The engineer will be responsible for design ing , implementin g , and mainta i n ing a resilient network infrastructure, ensuring robust, secure connectivity across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Network Design and Implementation: Lead the design, configuration, and deployment of Palo Alto, Cisco Catalyst, and Meraki network infrastructure to support organizational needs.
- System Maintenance: Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot network systems to ensure optimal performance, including routine updates, upgrades, and backups.
- Security and Compliance: Implement network security protocols and best practices to protect the organization’s data and infrastructure; familiarity with cybersecurity principles is advantageous.
- Collaboration and Support: Work closely with IT teams to troubleshoot issues, provide technical guidance, and support critical network initiatives.
- Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, processes, and procedures to support operational continuity and compliance.
- Project Management: Lead network-related projects, ensuring alignment with company goals, timelines, and budgetary constraints.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest technologies, trends, and best practices in networking and security to recommend improvements.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science , Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on Palo Alto and Cisco Catalyst and Meraki equipment.
- Advanced knowledge of network protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and concepts (e.g., VLAN, VPN, NAT, firewall rules).
- Proficiency in both Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills in complex network environments.
Preferred Skills and Knowledge:
- Certifications in network and/or security (e.g., CCNP, Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer).
- Experience in network automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible) is a plus.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and practices, with a focus on securing network infrastructure.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
