Roles and Responsibilities
- Compiling lists of prospective customers and sales leads. Follow up as necessary
- Quote the product features and price according with key clients’ requests and technical requirements.
- Working with sales leaders, other sales representatives, and potential channel partners to increase prospects and drive closure of opportunities
- Responsible for driving Sales through managing a portfolio of both Direct Accounts and Channel Partners.
- Sales negotiation and deal closure at the customer, interfacing with all key buying influencers such as direct users of the product, biomedical engineering departments and other stake holders
- Demo tours all over the region to capitalize on opportunities that immediately satisfy customer needs while maintaining satisfactory after-sale relationships and development of long-term customer relationships.
- Providing pricing strategy and ensure pricing compliance for segment opportunities
- Estimating date of Forecasting orders and sales of assigned territory and submit monthly report
- Representing the company at trade association meetings to promote product and company
- Provide technical and clinical leadership during sales process by demonstrating full range of product features in the operating theater including potential uses, product capabilities and benefits to customers as needed
- Develop, coordinate, and deliver product training to customers on software, application and/or equipment use, monitor customer installations within assigned territory/region to improve customer satisfaction and maintain customer relationships
- Improve customer satisfaction and socket retention through continuing education on optimization of equipment utilization by customer
- Understand complete indirect distribution landscape (including competition landscape) and ceaselessly work to enhance our distribution. Keep looking out for new dealers as alternatives/backup, as appropriate.
- Provide support to distributors on day-to-day product inquiries, price negotiations, customer presentations, finding complementing products, share best practices from other countries/regions, etc.
- Develop, coach and train distributors to ensure they are effective in sales in their assigned product portfolio and geographical coverage.
- Plan and execute Trade show/Workshops/Clinical Talks/show sites/Customer visits.
- Lead product demonstrations and customer trainings with surgical equipment in the Operating room
Required Qualifications and Characteristics
- At least one of the following core experiences: Minimum of 5 years clinical/ technical experience following certification with demonstrated clinical/technical skill in specific areas or at least 5 years commercial applications/modality experience with demonstrated successes in high level customer interactions and sales scenarios
- Drive continuous improvement on all related processes, work instructions, and procedures to ensure ongoing standardization and simplification of the Quality Management System
- Demonstrated current x-ray imaging proficiencies preferably on surgical mobile C-arms
- Proven capability to interact with distributors and/or channel partner
- Knowledge and understanding of all Global Privacy and Anti-Competition Policies (including but not limited to GE Healthcare HIPAA Guidelines, NEMA Regulations, etc.) and operates within them to ensure that no company policy or US / Int’l Law is broken.
- Knowledge and understanding of all Environmental Health Policies (including but not limited to GE Healthcare EHS Policies, GE Healthcare Fleet Rules, etc.) and operate within them to ensure that no company policy or US / Int’l Law is broken
- Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position

Description:
The Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and the University of Toronto is inviting applications for the position of an academic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon specializing in Hand Surgery, Peripheral Nerve Reconstruction and Microsurgery.
The effective date of this appointment is January 1, 2026 , but can be flexible depending on the candidate.
The successful candidate will join a dynamic and collegial team of plastic and reconstructive surgeons with a major focus on hand and peripheral nerve surgery. The successful candidate will also participate in medical student, resident, and plastic surgery fellow education at the University of Toronto.
The successful candidate must have completed specialized fellowship training in hand and peripheral nerve surgery. Solid expertise in reconstructive microsurgery is also required for this position. Expertise in the management of wrist pathologies, lower extremity reconstruction, and the management of skin cancers is also an asset. The successful candidate will share in a 1:6 plastic surgery on call pool. Evidence of excellence in teaching and research is required.
The candidate ’ s application should demonstrate excellence in academic activities (research, quality improvement, education). The successful candidate should have a strong research track record, preferably resulting in a M.Sc. or PhD degree. The successful candidate will have an academic role of Surgeon Investigator or Surgeon Scientist.
The candidate must be eligible for appointment at the University of Toronto at the academic rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor and will participate in the educational programs and academic mission of the University of Toronto, Division of Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery as a full-time member. The candidate must hold an MD and FRCSC (or equivalent specialist designation) qualification in plastic surgery and be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre is one of Canada’s largest hospitals and a leader in clinical and research activities. Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre is a fully affiliated academic health sciences facility of the University of Toronto and home to one of the University’s three academies for undergraduate education. Sunnybrook has an international reputation for clinical excellence in research and is an acknowledged academic leader. The Sunnybrook Research Institute hosts well established programs in basic, applied and clinical research occupying over 250,000 square feet of state-of-the-art infrastructure with annual peer reviewed grants of $100 million dollars.
The Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Sunnybrook provides all aspects of plastic surgery reconstruction, including hand surgery, peripheral nerve surgery, microsurgical reconstruction, craniofacial surgery, skin cancer care, and wound reconstruction. The Division performs at least 1000 emergent and elective cases per annum with over >6000 clinical visits per year. Many of the patients come through the Tory Regional Trauma Centre, ensuring a complex case mix of trauma reconstruction.
Annual salary will be between the range of $00,000 - 350,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience. This estimate is based on fee for service billings.

Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Representative to promote and sell medical microscopes to dentists and plastic/reconstructive surgeons across South Africa. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the medical industry, a proven track record in sales, and the ability to build strong relationships with healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Promote and sell the company's medical microscope range to target markets.
- Identify and cold call potential customers to generate leads.
- Schedule and conduct sales appointments and product demonstrations.
- Drive market penetration and grow market share within the territory.
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships.
- Prepare and follow up on quotations and customer requests.
- Submit weekly activity planners and reports to the Director.
- Support marketing initiatives including conferences, congresses, educational events, and customer workshops.
- Assist in implementing strategic and tactical marketing plans.
- Evaluate competitor products and market activities to support sales strategies.
- Promote the company's full product offering in all interactions.
- Build a network of industry stakeholders including dentists, surgeons, hospitals, associations, and key opinion leaders.
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through proactive communication and service.
- Provide feedback to management on market trends, customer needs, and opportunities.
- Attend regular appointments with existing and potential clients.
- Submit accurate monthly sales and marketing reports before the 5th of each month.
- Ensure timely submission of expense claims with proper cost allocation.
- Maintain all administrative duties related to sales and marketing activities.
- Adhere to all relevant regulatory standards, SOPs, and the Company Code of Business Ethics.
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric (Grade 12) is essential.
- A tertiary qualification in sales, business, marketing, or healthcare is advantageous.
- Any qualification in medical marketing or management will be a strong advantage.
- Proven sales experience is required.
- Experience in the medical or healthcare industry (e.g., doctor detailing, medical device sales) is preferred.
- Familiarity with dental and/or surgical customer segments will be advantageous.
- Clinical knowledge and existing customer relationships are a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook - minimum intermediate level).
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to interpret customer needs and identify solutions.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- High level of self-motivation and goal orientation.
- Negotiation and influencing skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
