Well known and leading supplier of HIGH VOLTAGE electrical equipment requires an experienced Site Manager for construction sites.
Duties & Responsibilities- Qualified Electrician / Technician with suitable experience
- Authorised person for HV Regulations
- Safety Representative Qualification (NOSA, SAMTRAC or equivalent)
- Ability to work unsupervised
- The incumbent will be responsible for the management and supervision of all substation construction and commissioning activities on site with respect to time, quality and performance.
- The position necessitates full-time site work, resulting in extended periods away from home.
- Supervision of bulk earthworks, earth-mat installation, civil works and building subcontractors
- Checking set out points and substation layout relative to design drawings
- Installation supervision of the substation steelwork, busbars and HV switchgear primary plant.
- Installation supervision of the protection and control secondary plant
- Read and implement information shown on civil works, building and electrical design drawings
- Manage site workforce with respect to performance, safety, quality and programme
- Supervise cabling, terminating and wiring connections
- Oversee and coordinate site acceptance testing of electrical equipment
- Enforcing health, safety and environmental standards and maintain the site safety file
- Perform the function of the appointed on-site health and safety representative
- Maintain site administration systems and filing.
- Report on site activities both internally and to the customer
- Plan site activities with respect to material requirements, resourcing and customer interfacing
- Manage site float and purchase consumables for site use
Basic salary commensurate with qualifications, ability and experience. Medical Aid, Provident Fund, Travel allowance for business travel, Living out allowance, Cell phone allowance.

To qualify for this role, you should have:
- Ability to assess complex electrical faults and safety-critical conditions
- Experience with software-based and hardware-based control systems
- Familiarity with SAP or equivalent maintenance systems
- A Red Seal qualification or equivalent technical diploma in Electrical Engineering
- 510 years of relevant experience in high-voltage operations
- Certified or willing to be certified in NEN 3140 VP/IV/WV and NEN 3840 VP/IV/WV
- Fluent in Afrikaans and English and motivated to learn Dutch
