A Day in the LifeAs a Strategic Accounts Manager in Medtronic's Strategic Account Acceleration team, you are responsible for establishing trusted partnerships with our most important customers by leveraging Medtronic's unparalleled breadth and scale.
This position offers autonomy in drafting value-added services and solutions that match customer needs and fosters innovation to build Medtronic's business future, creating value, delivering accelerated growth, and improving customer experience.
It also offers senior exposure both internally with Medtronic's top leadership and externally with the C-suite of strategic accounts.
Responsibilities may include the following, and other duties may be assigned:
- Deeply understand the customer's business vision, priorities, key initiatives, metrics/KPIs, and outcomes they seek. Proactively analyze, gain, and bring actionable insights to identify opportunities to elevate customer performance, improve care delivery, alleviate pain, restore health, and extend life.
- Maintain complete and accurate account plans for targeted strategic accounts, including stakeholder mapping, historical activities, competition landscape, market analysis, therapy gaps, and market share.
- Understand the customer's decision process, elevate engagement with relevant C-suite executives, and strengthen enterprise relationships.
- Build and lead high-performance account teams, collaborating with local commercial leads, Integrated Health Solutions (IHS), and other stakeholders to maximize value creation in strategic accounts.
- Align on opportunities to create value, accelerate, and sustain growth with customers, developing joint account business plans, strategies, and tactics to achieve mutual goals.
- Develop relevant solutions to enable customer success, quantify and communicate value, define commercial models, negotiate agreements and pricing, and secure commitments.
- Execute account plans, establish review cadences, monitor joint scorecards, develop long-term strategic roadmaps, and continuously learn, adjust, and improve.
- Bachelor's degree in business, science, medicine, or equivalent.
- At least 7 years of business management experience in senior and complex roles.
- Previous experience in a regulated industry such as Medical Devices, Healthcare, or Pharma within a multinational environment with a significant matrix component.
- Ability to operate from idea generation through strategy development to detailed implementation and results delivery.
- Program management skills including planning, coordinating, communicating, influencing, relationship building, achieving milestones, resolving issues, and managing risks.
- Experience in change management.
- Ability to engage other business functions and teams to work towards common goals.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Lead strategic discussions with Headquarters on collective Pan-Medtronic agreements and communicate key initiatives and growth plans.
- Manage total Strategic Accounts Management (SAM) account targets and performance.
- Oversee the regional SAM team, providing leadership within the newly designed SAM model.
- Build and maintain senior/C-suite relationships with strategic partners to identify and qualify new business opportunities.
- Collaborate with Business Units to develop portfolio strategies that expand market share, optimize pricing, and establish long-term agreements.
- Understand account priorities and tailor value-added programs accordingly.
- Develop and execute business plans to achieve strategic objectives.
- Identify and cultivate ongoing sales growth opportunities with key accounts.
- Lead a team of experienced sales professionals, focusing on performance, talent development, and operational excellence.
- Drive diversity and inclusion, and manage communication and planning across the team.
- May participate directly in sales activities as needed.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field
- Minimum10 years of relevant sales experience.
- Proven experience in sales leadership, business development, and strategic account management
- Ability to solve complex, undefined problems through analysis and insight; improve processes and team performance.
- Proven track of direct influence on revenue targets, resource planning, and strategic initiatives.
- Ability to manage a mid-sized team of sales professionals with a focus on performance management and business impact.
