Responsibilities

• Interact with business analysts and end users to establish information needs.

Technical Skills

• The BI Solutions Architect should understand and have expertise in the various technologies needed to implement BI solutions. The BI Solutions Architect must have experience with the Microsoft BI stack and Oracle.

• Solid experience in writing functional and technical specifications, process flows and source-to-target mappings Experience working with BI front-end tools to develop prototype solutions (Power BI, Excel).
• Strong SQL query writing ability (across database environments).
• Strong experience in logical and physical data modelling using a variety of techniques including Kimball.
• Strong database fundamentals and data modelling knowledge (normalization and de-normalization).

Location: Africa (Remote, with customer travel)

We’re looking for a dynamic Solution Engineer to drive growth across our Network Testing and Radio Engineering product lines in the CSP sector. This is a strategically important role, which requires someone with very strong technical skills, and the ability convey the benefits of our portfolio to our customers in the Middle East and Africa.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Using your technical expertise, as part of the sales team, to articulate the benefits Infovista’s Network Testing and Radio Engineering solutions in customer meetings, presentations, and bid responses
• Understand the customers business issues, and problems and find matching suitable Infovista solutions
• Answer technical parts of RFP and RFQs, and prepare BoQs and solution descriptions
• Assist the sales team with developing and executing sales strategies in the region
• Expand relationships with existing clients and identifying new opportunities
• Facilitate innovation in the products, by bringing ideas and new customer requirements to the Product Management team, and helping to prioritise and deliver them
• Be a trusted technical advisor to Infovista’s customers in the region
• Collaborate internally with teams in Professional Services and Support to ensure a seamless delivery to our customers
• Organise and deliver trials either remotely, or on-site with the customer, and ensure our customer experiences the benefits of Infovista’s solutions
• Customise our solutions, where appropriate, to ensure our customers derive maximum value from them
• Follow Infovista’s sales processes for accurately recording the progress of customer engagements

What you bring:

Solution Engineering Expertise

• 5+ years working in a solution engineering field in the telecoms market (or as a minimum, 5+ years in a customer-facing, technical field in telecoms)
• A university degree in engineering or a similar degree in a technical field
• Good knowledge of the mobile RAN and most importantly, how this impacts KPIs and mobile customer experience

• Insight into CSP ecosystems in Africa and/or the Middle East
• Experienced in managing customer engagements to successful completion
• Ability to qualify opportunities early and manage multiple deals in parallel

Communication

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the skill to communicate technically complex problems or solutions in an understandable way
• Fluent in English, and preferably fluent in French and/or Arabic
• Ability to present and engage with stakeholders at all levels of the customer organisation – from explaining technical details to engineers, to showing the business value to executives
• Collaborative mindset – to work closely with multiple internal teams to achieve objectives
• Attention to detail – deliver accurate work and ensure it is communicated in a clear way to ensure mutual understanding

Technical Expertise Knowledge

• Detailed knowledge of the KPIs and business issues of Infovista’s customers, and the ability to match Infovista’s solutions to their problems
• Deep understanding of mobile network testing, and preferably planning, customer use-cases
• Sufficient knowledge of 3GPP Layer 3 messaging, and IP traces to perform basic troubleshooting on drive test failures
• Ideally, a good understanding of cellular propagation modelling principles
• Scripting skills, preferably in Python
• Ability to convert customer reporting requirements into reality, by documenting and where possible, creating them
• Familiarity with Infovista’s TEMS and/or Planet tools is a strong plus
• Knowledge of competitive solutions in the market and how to differentiate Infovista’s solutions

Travel:

• Mostly remote based, but can travel up to 30% per year, across Africa and the Middle East. As such, proximity to an international airport is required

Databases & Analytics is a growth area for Microsoft Azure, encompassing a broad portfolio of IaaS and PaaS services designed for building, deploying, and managing cloud-native database and analytics applications.

As a Data Platform Solution Engineer, you will help enterprises unlock the potential of Microsoft’s cloud database and analytics stack. Your role involves working closely with engineering teams to accelerate the Fabric Data Platform, including Azure Databases and Analytics, through engagements like Proof of Concepts, hackathons, and architecture workshops. This role offers opportunities for career growth, developing business and technical skills, and guiding customers in secure, scalable solution design and migration strategies.

Qualifications

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of technical pre-sales or consulting experience OR a relevant Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years experience, OR a Master’s degree with 3+ years experience, or equivalent experience.
• Expertise in Azure Databases (SQL DB, Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL), including migration, modernization, and AI application development.
• Proficiency in Azure Analytics (Fabric, Azure Databricks, Purview) and experience with competitors like BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake, especially in data warehousing, data lakes, big data, analytics, and reporting with security and governance.
• Proven ability to lead technical engagements such as hackathons, PoCs, and MVPs that deliver production-scale results.

Preferred qualifications

• 6+ years in technical pre-sales, consulting, or related fields.
• Experience with cloud/hybrid/infrastructure architecture, migrations, and technology management.
• Knowledge of data warehouse and big data migration, including on-premises appliances (Teradata, Netezza, Oracle), Hadoop (Cloudera, Hortonworks), and Azure Synapse Gen2.

Responsibilities

• Drive technical sales through demos and PoCs, influencing solution design and enabling deployments.
• Lead hands-on engagements like hackathons and architecture workshops to promote Microsoft cloud adoption.
• Build trusted relationships with platform leads, co-designing secure, scalable architectures.
• Address technical blockers, collaborating with engineering teams to share insights and improve products.
• Maintain expertise in Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, Purview Data Governance, and Azure Databases.
• Expand knowledge in on-prem EDW solutions and Hadoop & BI tools.
• Represent Microsoft in community forums and thought leadership activities.

• Maintain deep expertise in Analytics Portfolio: Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, DW, real-time intelligence, BI, Copilot), Azure Databricks, Purview Data Governance, and Azure Databases: SQL DB, Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL.
• Maintain and grow expertise in on-prem EDW (Teradata, Netezza, Exadata), Hadoop & BI solutions.
• Represent Microsoft through thought leadership in cloud Database & Analytics communities and customer forums.

• OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 3+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience
• OR equivalent experience
• Expertise in Azure Databases (SQL DB, Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL), including migration, modernization, and AI application development
• Expertise in Azure Analytics (Fabric, Azure Databricks, Purview) and competitors (BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake) in data warehousing, data lakes, big data, analytics, real-time intelligence, and reporting with integrated Data Security & Governance
• Proven ability to lead technical engagements (e.g., hackathons, PoCs, MVPs) that drive production-scale outcomes

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

• 6+ years of technical pre-sales, consulting, or technology delivery experience
• 4+ years experience with cloud and hybrid or on-premises infrastructure, architecture design, migrations, industry standards, and technology management
• Proficiency in data warehouse & big data migration including on-premises appliances (Teradata, Netezza, Oracle), Hadoop (Cloudera, Hortonworks), and Azure Synapse Gen2
