The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Simulation to support our MQ-25 located in Hazelwood, Missouri . This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Global Services (BGS) business organization.

Serve as the software architect for the MQ-25 Test Training Rehearsal Unit (TTRU) software to meet current USN contract requirements. Provide oversight and serve as subject matter expertise to software engineers across the MQ-25, T-7A, and T-45 vehicle simulation portfolios. Possess a business acumen for technical communication with our Navy customer, while driving new business opportunities for the MQ-25 TTRU Platform.

Serve as the technical leadership across MQ-25, T-7A, and T-45 to institute common software practices, usage of common software tools including Boeing Software Factory (BSF), alignment to future FABRIC roadmaps, and implementation of software product line methodologies where applicable. Possess a deep understanding of modelling and simulation with respect to Air Vehicle Simulation along with a proven track record of applying software best practices and enterprise standards across multiple software projects/products.

Position Responsibilities
  • Partners with stakeholders to advise on the review and identification of simulation requirements and dynamics of the systems being simulated.
  • Oversees the design, modeling, simulation, testing, and analysis to assess and optimize overall system performance and capabilities.
  • Reviews data collection and processing for use in simulations.
  • Oversees validation, verification, and refinement of simulation software code, models, simulations, test procedures and test environments, executing test procedures, documenting test results and modeling against real-world data, test data, benchmarks, or other similar models.
  • Reviews the documentation and maintenance of technical code, algorithms, specifications and descriptions of simulation models.
  • Partners with cross functional engineering teams to advise on integration of simulation software with hardware devices and systems.
  • Oversees implementing current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and methods in the software engineering simulation environment.
  • Advises management and influences internal practices on a wide range of topics related to the software engineering simulation environments.
  • Oversees the design, architecture, and development of simulation models, simulation visualizations, virtual environments/platforms and frameworks to enhance test performance, safety, and durability of software and hardware systems throughout the entire product lifecycle.

Note: This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
  • Ability to obtain U.S. Secret clearance post-start
  • 14 years of experience in C++, C, Rust, Java, Python, Go
  • 14 years of software development on Linux, Windows
  • 14 years of experience working with Visual Studio, Jira or Git

Environment YOUR expertise in modelling and simulation, specifically in Electro-optic sensors, components and subsystems is sought by a global leader in Security Solutions seeking its next Modelling and Simulation Engineer. Applicants should have an interest and aptitude to evaluate and improve system performance through optimisation of optics and algorithms. You should be able to analyse and summarise results of, for example, field and laboratory measurements so that it can be presented to various stakeholders. You will require a B. Eng Degree in Electronics or equivalent tertiary qualification and preferably have at least 5 years’ experience in a Scientific or Engineering R&D and /or Product Development environment with proficiency in MATLAB, Python and similar tools – advanced knowledge and experience required. Duties Modelling and Simulation - Design and use of system models. Modelling and Simulation - MATLAB, Simulink, Python, Excel (Advanced). Modelling and Simulation - Hardware-in-the-loop simulations. Modelling and Simulation - Component (e.g. detector) level simulation up to system level simulation. Modelling and Simulation - Evaluation and optimisation for the purpose of improving overall system performance. Lens Design Analysis - Evaluate existing and proposed optical designs. Lens Design Analysis - Commercial lens design packages. Lens Design Analysis - Modelling as part of larger system model. Filter design and evaluation - Understanding of thin film filters. Filter design and evaluation - Understanding of absorption filters. Filter design and evaluation - Measurement of filters. Filter design and evaluation - Robustness design. Algorithm Design and Signal Processing – Assist in algorithm development and optimisation as required. Data Analysis - Data Analysis of measurements. Data Analysis - Summary and presentation of results. Data Analysis - Prepare algorithms for deployment onto embedded systems. Requirements Qualifications – B. Eng. Electronics or an equivalent qualification. Qualifications – Master’s Degree preferred. Experience/Skills Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Scientific or Engineering R&D and /or Product Development environment. MATLAB, Python and similar tools – advanced knowledge and experience required. Good skills in summarising and presenting results. Basic System Engineering knowledge. Data Analysis and Reporting. Signal Processing. Electro-Optics. Radiometry. Image Processing Software. Electronic Warfare. Advantageous Knowledge of an electronics production, repair and maintenance environment. Knowledge of Electro-optic systems. Optic, Electro-optic and Radiometry knowledge. #J-18808-Ljbffr
