- Greet, smile and acknowledge customers
- Displays a helpful attitude when serving internal and external customers
- Ensures all customer needs are met
Manages stock effectively
- Scrutinize and analyse reports completely and count stock from back area to front area
- Ensure all stock management transactions are complete and confirm end of day (EOD)
- Ensure efficient and accurate receiving of stock when it falls in your trading window
- Complete temperature checks for end of day
- Ensure the effective management of carry over stock replenishment and known gap reports (KGR)
- Implement and action all price changes
- Continuously check and correct balance on hand (BOH)
- Manage security and risk processes during the EOD window to ensure a safe store environment
- Confirm EOD and complete handover checklist for Early Morning team and ensure it is available to the Early Morning controller
Demonstrates product knowledge
- Knows what new lines and promotions have come into the store, as well as the benefits and features of products sold in the store
Adheres to shop-keeping disciplines
Ensure that shop-keeping disciplines are continuously in place through managing Food Supply Chain disciplines and using known gap report
Checks that all hygiene standards are met including deep cleaning refrigeration
Minimises shrinkage
Reporting acts of dishonesty related to shrinkage and fraud to your line manager or shrinkage hotline
Effectively manage stock and stock losses
Understand and apply red flag processes for Early Morning
Ensure proper searches are conducted
Ensure that the store is not left unattended or without supervision
Manages staff effectively
Plans and co-ordinates of activities
Identify and co-ordinate all activities that need to be delivered during end of day shift
Follow up on all tasks delegated to end of day staff
Demonstrates personal leadership
- Demonstrates self-discipline with regards to attendance, dress code, hygiene and time-keeping, and drives this outcome with the team
Minimum requirements
- Preferably grade 12 or relevant NQF level
- Available and flexible to work different shifts
- Previous supervisory experience advantageous
