A leading pharmaceutical company has a vacancy for a Laboratory Analyst to perform chemical testing on Finished Product and Water Samples.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensures that the samples received agree to the Production Program and label copy.
- Ensures the correct procedures are followed.
- All results are correctly calculated to determine acceptability.
- Ensures samples are taken at the correct process steps and released timeously.
- Ensures that the monthly water points are sampled and tested timeously.
- Tests finished products using current pharmacopoeias/SOP associated with ‘wet’ chemistry and instrumental techniques (HPLC, IR, UV, AA, FTIR, Flame photometer etc.), as appropriate.
- Initiates an out of specification investigation form and reports failing results to the Supervisor/Manager during failures.
- Ensures that equipment is calibrated and validated before use by checking the calibration.
- Ensures that samples after analysis are defaced and discarded in the waste area.
- Determines whether results are acceptable and liaises with Supervisor/Manager to determine if resampling/retesting is required.
- Performs duties deemed necessary by Superior.
- Assists in the investigation of out of specification results.
- Ensures compliance to limits on the Analytical reports.
- Tests customer complaints as and when required.
- BSc Degree or National Diploma in Chemistry.
- 2-3 years Lab experience in Pharmaceutical Industry.
- HPLC experience in Pharmaceuticals Quality Control Laboratory will be an advantage.

A leading pharmaceutical company has a vacancy for an Instrument Qualification Analyst (shift work) to coordinate and assist in performance of installation, calibration, maintenance of instruments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs assigned PMs and calibration on laboratory equipment, and reports changes or repairs needed.
- Updates the Calibration status of all analytical Instruments.
- When the calibration limits for instrument is out of limit to refer to manuals and communicate with the supplier for any problems.
- Updates and files equipment history, process, documents and results of all work performed.
- Performs a routine scheduled maintenance.
- Communicate with the supplier for any repairs and maintenance of general laboratory equipment.
- Coordinates and assist in performance of installation, calibration, maintenance and IQ/OQ/PQ activities.
- Initiate, review, and approve equipment repair, calibration/qualification and change control document.
- Trains department personnel on calibration concepts and procedures.
- Initiate and update new SOP’s.
- Ensures that all equipment has dedicated SOP’s and instrument manuals available.
- Follows Safety and GLP requirements as instructed.
- Completes GLP and Safety audit-findings timeously as per the stipulated target dates.
- BSc Degree with a major in Microbiology or National Diploma in Microbiology/Bacteriology/Medical Technology/Chemistry.
- Practical experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry.
