The main job function supporting a global 24/7 Microsoft-based infrastructure across multiple datacentres (Windows Server 2022 and SQL Server 2022).
Key Responsibilities:
- Working in an Operations Centre, part of a team running a 24/7 shift pattern.
- Reviewing Monitoring and Alerting systems constantly. Prioritizing and escalating issues quickly and proactively, or solving issues where possible. Goal of zero downtime across critical systems.
- Escalating and communicating issues to 2nd line support (Aris IT and Blue Ion) or 3rd party organisations when necessary (Database Admins, ISP suppliers, etc.).
- Performing updates, installations, and changes to systems; windows updates, software licenses, web site certs, etc.
- Maintaining security of systems and customer data, raising any issues as soon as they occur.
- Prioritizing and troubleshooting support tickets and requests from customers, during times when other IT teams are not working. Delivering prompt and professional customer service.
- Producing and maintaining documentation on process and systems as required, to the standard of other IT teams documentation.
- Contributing to post-incident or post-project reviews/retrospectives.
- Learning about the systems in the platform, the environments, and technologies.
- Logging effort per day and time remaining on current tasks in time tracking tool.
Assisting the rest of the team and other IT teams with support and projects where needed.

Technical Skills and Knowledge- Basic knowledge of enterprise LAN and WAN setups and concepts. Ability to perform smart hand activities under instructions at sites and remotely.
- Ability to lift/move computer equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Expertise in desk-side support and PC repair, including basic administration of Windows OS and Mac OS.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and RDP.
- Support for peripheral and networking hardware such as monitors, keyboards, mice, printers, fax machines, scanners, routers, switches, firewalls, racks, and data panels under 'Smart Hands' capability.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for systems and network issues, including end-user network cabling.
- Advanced knowledge of computer hardware, chipsets, memory modules, and peripherals.
- Familiarity with operating systems, software applications, and remote connection tools: MS Windows, MS Office 365, Active Directory, SCCM, DHCP, VPN.

- Possess broad IT knowledge, including networks, servers, AV, smart devices, and telecoms.
- Ability to work in a project-based environment with flexibility and teamwork.
- Minimum 1-3 years of IT support experience, with at least 18 months in Windows desktop support.
