Job Purpose
The digital marketing specialist with an advertising platform focus is responsible for leading and managing various aspects of digital marketing campaigns across different platforms and channels to achieve business objectives.
Platforms may include, but not be limited to, Paid Social channels such as Meta Ads or LinkedIn Ads, Paid Search channels such as Google Ads or Microsoft Ads, and programmatic channels such as Adroll, Criteo, or The Trade Desk. The specialist will also periodically explore, onboard, and test new ad platforms to support the business’s growth objectives.
The specialist works closely with the Director: Performance Marketing, marketing team and external teams to ensure creative and strategic alignment, performance improvement, and end-to-end implementation of digital marketing tactics. Agency management for all digital campaigns as required and actively support retail and e-commerce specific digital marketing initiatives.
They also handle the administrative tasks related to digital marketing, providing support in terms of insight generation from the market, competitors and campaign performance to assist with strategic direction and any ad hoc business projects.
Minimum Education (essential)
- BCom Marketing Management or related Commerce degree
- Postgraduate Degree or Diploma in Marketing Management or related
- Course / Certificate in digital marketing

- Business to Consumer marketing.
- Experience in international markets.
- Creating, monitoring & optimizing various digital campaigns on various platforms such as Facebook, Google, YouTube, e-commerce platforms, 3rd party remarketing platforms, etc.

- Analyzing and reporting on campaign data.
- Set up and testing of goals and conversion tracking.
- Digital platforms (i.e. Google Ads, Facebook, YouTube, e-commerce platforms, 3rd party remarketing platforms, etc).

- Lead the management of digital marketing campaigns across platforms with a particular focus on Facebook Ads Manager. May also be required to support Google Ads, BING, 3rd party remarketing platforms, etc and assist with managing agency relationships as needed.
- Lead the creative and copy briefing process for all digital campaigns to ensure frequently enough updated creatives, alignment with positioning, and seamless approvals and implementation across digital platforms in support of the performance marketing plan.
- Support digital platform expert relationships and conduct digital campaign audits and account analysis to gather insights and make recommendations for new campaign, audience or ad ideas to test with the objective to improve campaign performance.
- Implement ongoing campaign, creative and audience refinements and optimizations.
- Analyze campaign performance data and provide regular reporting to the marketing team and 3rd party partners as needed.
- Support the retail marketing team with retailer briefs for new online launches and creative updates.
- Support the broader teams with our own e-commerce platforms including our website and landing pages to ensure seamless and optimized customer journeys from a digital campaign perspective.
- Generate leads, collaborate with development team on optimizing lead generation website experiences, and collaborate with sales team on optimizing lead quality
- Collaborate with the relevant teams to ensure we optimize customer journeys across the different touchpoints focussing on digital campaigns to improve overall conversion rate of our website.
- Manage the tactical implementation of journey optimized digital campaign efforts.
- Build a monthly digital marketing platform performance report and work with the BI teams to automate and optimize dashboards.
- Assist with end to end analytics tracking, monitoring and improvement across platforms.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure accurate conversion tracking.
- Track performance on a monthly basis and optimize campaigns based on insights.
- Assist with developing and implementing digital marketing strategies including insight generation from the market, competitors and campaign performance to ensure business objectives are achieved.
- Create a comprehensive competitor analysis on a quarterly basis, keep a close eye on competitors to ensure we remain relevant and capture competitor activity during key promotional periods on an ongoing basis.
- Assist to create processes and systems to support the broader business.
- Contribute to strategic business projects when required.
- Consistently explore new possibilities for the expansion of our digital reach and digital sales channels and chase down such opportunities.
- Assist with overall digital marketing administration.

We’re looking for a Digital Marketing Strategist who’s an experienced strategist and a hands-on executor. You’re someone who can guide a team of performance marketers while making sure campaigns are sharp, ROI-driven, and aligned with client goals.
Your main responsibilities will be:
Manage and optimize SEO, PPC, funnels (from top to bottom), email, and social media campaigns
Develop full-funnel digital strategies that drive engagement and conversions
Analyze audience data and KPIs to refine strategies and boost ROI
Set benchmarks and monitor performance for ROAS, CPL, CAC, and more
Conduct audits to improve quality, creativity, and efficiency
Improve landing pages, funnels, and CRO
Work closely with creatives to deliver compelling ad messaging
Lead and mentor the performance team for excellent execution and growth
Act as the go-to expert on paid media for internal and client strategy
Stay on top of platform updates, trends, and beta programs
This is a full-time role with working hours from 8am to 2pm EST to ensure overlap with our U.S. team.

To excel in this role, you need:
5–7+ years in digital marketing, with 2+ years in a leadership role
Hands-on experience with $100k+ monthly ad spend with multiple clients
Expert with Google Ads, Meta Ads, GTM, and Looker Studio
Comfortable in fast-paced, client-facing agency settings
Strong command of paid media strategy, analytics, and testing
Strategic, empathetic, and confident leader who mentors well
Clear communicator who’s comfortable making decisions.
Experience in healthcare, dental, or agency environments

As a performance-driven Marketing professional, you are a fully dedicated business leader with the opportunity to shape the future of Yassir Express South Africa.
You take part in the complete marketing experience as you lead every facet of the Customers journey. From determining positioning, competitive analysis, feature prioritisation (in conjunction with our Head of Marketing) and external communications, you help shape the direction of Yassir, while helping it acquire new customers.
Minimum Requirements- Minimum 4-7 years in performance and digital marketing
- Hands-on (technical) experience across all digital marketing platforms (Google and social media)
- Proven track record in customer acquisition and performance marketing
- FMCG/ APP experience beneficial but not mandatory
- Relevant qualification
