We're seeking an ambitious SEO expert to build our company's SEO practice from the ground up. This is a unique opportunity to establish and lead a new department while working with world-class ecommerce brands on the Shopify platform. You'll be at the forefront of next-generation SEO, including AI-powered strategies and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO).

  • Client SEO Development
  • Develop our comprehensive SEO offering for our ecommerce clients using Shopify.
  • Create Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) services using cutting-edge technology to improve brand discovery in AI tools.
  • Communicate SEO requirements to project teams for seamless implementation.
  • Conduct regular client site reviews to track performance and identify optimization opportunities.
  • Build compelling sales approaches for our SEO offerings.
  • Educate the team on SEO best practices to support sales cycles and ongoing projects.
  • Own SEO strategy for our company site, including:
    • Content recommendations focused on pillar keywords and gated content.
    • Monitor and analyze site performance to provide regular reports and recommendations for optimization.
    • Development and execution of "Shopify News" content strategy.
    • Execute advanced backlink strategies, including high-quality and .edu link acquisition.
    • Define SEO-driven content strategies focused on pillar topics, long-tail keywords, and emerging search behavior.
    • Collaborate with writers, agencies, and partners to produce and amplify high-impact content.
    • Lead third-party content placement and backlink strategies to build authority and visibility.
    • Track and analyze content performance using UTM parameters and SEO analytics tools.
    • Essential Qualifications
    • Proven SEO expertise with demonstrable results.
    • Eager and ambitious mindset to build our SEO practice from the ground up.
    • Capable and scrappy approach.
    • Proficiency with existing SEO reporting technology and tools like Google Search Console, SEMrush, Google Keyword Planner, and Google Analytics.
    • Interest and/or experience with AI applications in SEO, particularly Generative Engine Optimization (GEO).
    • Self-starter who thrives in building new initiatives.
    • Strong communication skills for cross-team collaboration.
    • Experience working with ecommerce brands (Shopify experience a plus).
    • Passion for staying ahead of SEO trends and algorithm changes.

    Position Overview:

    As a Senior Online Marketing Executive specialising in Content Optimisation, you will play a crucial role in supporting the company’s businesses by creating and optimising digital content for SEO growth.

    Your primary responsibility will be to support the Digital Leads and Businesses to have a strong monthly blog strategy and ensure internal and external content is delivered in a timely manner, aligning with strong SEO-related content and the respective tones of voice for each brand.

    Secondary to this is ensuring new on-page content is improved from Content Audits conducted by our technical audit team.

    Working closely to support the digital leads to ensure new content created on-page is correct, makes sense, and improves SEO visibility for the websites. As an experienced digital content writer, you will be adept at understanding briefs, conducting research, and incorporating SEO best practices.

    This role is integral to the expansion of our digital marketing content growth strategy for 2024.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Content Creation and Optimisation:
      • Develop a content plan strategy with the Digital leads for each business.
      • Write engaging and informative blog briefs for externally written blogs for multiple client businesses, and create additional briefs for internally written blogs.
      • Ensure that the new content is optimised for search engines and adheres to best practices in SEO.
      • Support Digital Leads to perform keyword research and analysis to incorporate relevant keywords into the content.
      • Adapt your writing style and tone of voice to match the requirements of each business.
    2. WordPress Management:
      • Demonstrate a high level of proficiency in WordPress, including content creation, formatting, and publishing.
      • Upload and manage blog content, ensuring proper categorisation, tagging, and metadata optimisation for SEO.
      • Collaborate with the web development team to ensure a smooth user experience.
    3. Project Management and Campaign Briefs:
      • Prioritise and schedule content creation tasks, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
