Overview

Proper understanding and knowledge of Individual, Company, and Trust Tax Acts.

Withholding Tax calculations and submission.

Knowledge and understanding of Tax directives and completion and submission to SARS.

Public Officer Appointments.

VAT, PAYE, and SDL Registrations at SARS.

Import and Export Registrations at SARS.

Completion and submission of all Import and Export returns with the SARS.

Knowledge and understanding on how to proceed with SARS objections, administration penalties wavering and suspension of accounts.

Understanding and calculating clients Value Added Tax (VAT) and submitting of VAT201 returns on SARS e-filing.

Capturing and submission of EMP201’s on SARS e-filing.

Reconciling of Salaries and submission of IRP5’s and EMP501’s on SARS e-filing.

Liaising with SARS and able to maintain SARS appointments

Collaborating with customers to develop strategies to reduce tax liabilities.

Communicating with clients to clarify tax-related concerns.

Preparing tax filings.

Ensuring that clients comply with their tax responsibilities.

Prepares tax returns for individuals, organizations, and businesses using significant knowledge of tax rules and regulations.

Using adequate strategies to minimize taxation by taking advantage of tax deductions and credits.

Helping with complicated tax issues, like those involving rental properties and capital gains.

Minimizing tax obligations.

Providing guidance on important life events and their tax implications, like inheritance, marriage, divorce, and childbirth.

Gathering relevant financials and tax information from clients through interview Information such as clients' taxable income, allowances, and deductible expenses.

Qualifications/Requirements
  • Matric
  • BCompt Taxation degree or minimum 5 years’ experience in an accounting firm
  • Auditing and/or accounting SAIPA/SAICA/SAIBA or SAIT articles is an advantage
  • Understanding of SARS e-filing
  • Understanding of Income Tax, Value Added Tax and Pay As You Earn
  • Fluent in English and Afrikaans
  • Must have own reliable vehicle with valid drivers licence.

Align and maintain all tax relevant information within the TIH group.**Responsibilities**Tax Develop and/or deliver on plans to ensure overall tax compliance for TIH group companies with guidance from senior tax colleagues. Perform accurate and timely income tax and deferred tax computations to ensure accurate recording of income and deferred tax expense in the financials on a quarterly, interim and annual basis. Ensure monthly tax schedules and tax asset registers are prepared and reviewed adequately in order to ensure all significant expense accounts and assets are compliant with the tax legislation. Submit complete and accurate income tax returns and supporting documents to SARS (including ITR14s, ITR12T, IT14SD, IRP6, CbC Reporting, etc) and have zero-tolerance for SARS interest and penalties. Ensure the VAT GL accounts and the E-filing statement of account are reconciled on a monthly basis. Review payroll returns submitted by the tax administrators on a monthly basis. Identify when other indirect tax liabilities and deliver on plans to ensure compliance (eg Dividents Tax, Withholding Tax on Interest, etc.) Tax Advice Provide specialist guidance to business and the finance team on the interpretation and application of tax legislation, policies and procedures. Resolve with the guidance of senior tax colleagues complex or contentious queries and issues and enable others to take appropriate actions. External Stakeholder Engagement Develop and maintain positive working relationship with SARS and external Auditors and resolve their queries. Manage and maintain the relationship with the external Auditors and ensure all audit findings are addressed timeously on an annual basis.
