1. Role Summary
The Planner plays a vital role in supporting project execution by developing, maintaining, and monitoring schedules to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of projects. The role requires close coordination with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure the schedule reflects realistic timelines, resource availability, and risk considerations.
The Planner will apply the
Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE International) standards and recommended practices
to ensure consistency, accuracy, and reliability of project schedules. This includes ensuring compliance with recognized planning and scheduling methodologies such as Critical Path Method (CPM), Earned Value Management (EVM), and schedule risk analysis.
2. Key Responsibilities
2.1 Schedule Development
· Develop detailed project schedules in line with AACE International recommended practices (RP 10S-90, RP 34R-05).
· Work with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to define activity sequences, durations, dependencies, and milestones.
· Ensure logical relationships and coding structures are consistent with the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
· Integrate contractor and vendor schedules into the master schedule.
2.2 Schedule Monitoring & Control
· Track actual progress against the baseline schedule and prepare variance reports.
· Identify potential delays, risks, or deviations and recommend corrective actions.
· Perform

2.3 Reporting
· Prepare weekly and monthly schedule reports for project management and stakeholders.

2.4 Risk & Change Management
· Support schedule risk analysis in line with AACE RP 57R-09.
